Loose Women star Penny Lancaster has shared her husband Rod Stewart's hidden health battle that fans may not be aware of.
The 53-year-old appeared on the ITV show on Thursday to discuss a range of topics alongside panelists Charlene White, Linda Robson and Denise Welch. But when they discussed the subject of how bold they were with their house decor, Penny shared information that stunned viewers.
Sharing how exuberant her house decor is with leopard print and gold furnishings throughout, she said: "My husband is colour blind and when we're going he'd go 'darling does this go with this?' and I'm like 'on you, it does, honey' because I think you're flamboyant and that's your style and it's great.'
"But like I have a room which is zen, calm. You know I try to create some zen in our mad house!"
The news of Rod and Penny's house interiors comes after the famous musician was forced to defend his marriage after rumours emerged that the pair were undergoing "stalemate" in their 17-year marriage.
The Daily Mail previously reported that the famous couple were at war over the sale of their 28,000 sq ft Beverly Hills mansion. Singer Rod purchased the property – which features nine bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and a football pitch – in 1991 for $12m. However, it is now reportedly worth $70m.
Rod, 79, had reportedly promised wife Penny that they would return full-time to their Grade II-listed countryside mansion in Essex, which includes 10 stunning bedrooms. But this was then reported that there was conflict between the pair.
However, Rod completely dismissed the reports. He said in a statement: "There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I, and no disagreement on where we should reside, in fact, it’s the opposite," he explained.
"We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit.
"Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised that it makes sense to keep our house there."
