TOWIE’s Ella Rae Wise tells Closer’s Katie Banks why she felt out of her comfort zone on CBB and why filming scenes with her ex Dan Edgar is still tough.

We're used to seeing her causing a stir on TOWIE and Ella Rae Wise brought her reality-star drama to the Celebrity Big Brother house back in April, clashing with Chris Hughes amid viewer claims she was ‘jealous’ of the romance he sparked with fellow housemate JoJo Siwa.
But now with former Love Island star Chris, 32, and US Dance Moms icon JoJo, 22, looking like they’re committing to a serious romance outside of the famous house, Ella says she’s truly happy for them.
Speaking at the Shein x O Beach party in Ibiza, she smiles, ‘They make a beautiful couple, and they are so happy together, it’s really nice to see. Who knows whether they’ll get married, but I don’t think they’ll ask me to be the bridesmaid!’

And the 24 year old says being on CBB alongside celebs such as controversial Hollywood star Mickey Rourke – who was axed from the show after six days following inappropriate comments towards her – and eventual winner Jack P. Shepherd was quite a tricky journey.
She adds, ‘I really enjoyed the experience, but it was weird. It was a big deal for me at 24, I was really out of my comfort zone and around people that I’d probably never be around in my normal life.’
The TOWIE bombshell broke up with fellow star Dan Edgar just days before going into Celebrity Big Brother – and she admits she couldn’t stop thinking about her ex.

Ella – who made her debut on TOWIE in 2019 – says, ‘I was really anxious before I went in. It was emotional because I was fresh out of a break-up and it was like bang, bang, bang. There was no time to breathe and then I was in a situation where there were no phones, so I couldn’t talk to him. I didn’t know what he was doing, and my mind was just doing absolute somersaults.’
The pair have just returned from filming a TOWIE special in Portugal, and Ella admits they’ve now adapted to just being friends.
‘It’s hard to film with Dan but we didn’t end on a bad note,’ says Ella. ‘It’s OK and we get on well as friends. I can’t say what my storylines are but it’s drama, drama, drama!

‘The arguments can be awkward, but we all know what we’re there to do! We were only meant to be filming two episodes, but we ended up filming four as there was so much going on! We smashed it!’
So now Ella’s single, what about finding a boyfriend at O Beach – which is partly owned by the infamous Wayne Lineker, 63.
‘I don’t think I’m going to date Wayne, he’s old enough to be my dad,’ she laughs.
‘My mum would go absolutely mental!

‘I don’t really have a type, but I want to be treated how I feel I should be treated. It’s really hard to be in a relationship with someone who isn’t in the public eye because sometimes they don’t understand. Some men don’t like you filming with other boys, some men aren’t going to like me filming with my ex but it’s my job at the end of the day. I’d never kiss anyone or do anything I shouldn’t if I was in a relationship, I’d always be loyal.’
And Ella says wants to get her self care back on track.
She adds, ‘I don’t diet and my diet’s not that great, but I try to eat a lot of fruit. I’m lucky to have a fast metabolism.
'I go through periods where I get on a health kick. I want to get back to eating all natural foods, take vitamins and go to the gym because it’s good for my mind.

‘When you’re in the public eye, you don’t have a strict routine, and you have most of the day to do what you want. When I don’t have a routine, my head tends to go everywhere and I lose myself a bit so I’m looking forward to getting back into the gym, getting up at a good time and focusing on me.’
And Ella says she doesn’t judge the young reality stars for indulging in cosmetic enhancements. She adds, ‘You should have done whatever makes you happy – you need to have confidence in life. If you’re not confident about something and you can change it, why not?’
Now the reality star says she’s focusing on her fashion empire. She says, ‘I have my own fashion range called Bemeè and I love dressing up. I just got a new investor and we’re rebranding, so I’m excited about what’s coming next. I also love Shein. I’ve worn it for years. The quality of their clothing is amazing. They look great and they’re affordable too, which is handy!’
