Brit Eady is departing The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

The TV personality, 37, announced in an Instagram post on Monday, July 14, that she has decided to exit the Bravo series after one season.

Eady began her announcement by stating that she is ready to "close this chapter."

“I want to thank everyone who supported me, my friends, my followers, my amazing team, and everyone who defended my name,” she wrote. “I decided to walk away from something that no longer serves me because I choose peace over destroying my mental [health].”

“It’s very easy to say what I should have done, when most have not walked a day in my shoes," she continued. “I choose ME, and a lot of ppl can’t say they choose themselves.”

“I still have a lot of healing left to do, but you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick,” she added, before concluding, “I don’t owe anyone closure, I only owe myself to do what’s best for me. My journey here is done.”

Her departure follows her decision to not to take part in RHOA's season 16 reunion.

The reunion aired its first part on Sunday, July 13, while the remaining two parts will air on Sunday, July 20 and Sunday, July 27.

Eady opted out of the reunion after former castmate Kenya Moore shared explicit images of someone she alleged was Eady. However, Eady claimed in June that the photos were not of her.

At the time of the incident, Moore, 54, displayed graphic images blown up on a poster board of a woman performing oral sex at her hair spa opening in June 2024. It was presumed that the photos were of Eady, who Moore was feuding with at the time. Moore was ultimately suspended before she exited the series following an internal investigation.

A year later, on Thursday, June 5, sources told PEOPLE that Moore was "not invited" to attend the reunion taping.

That same day, Eady addressed her decision not to attend the reunion on her Instagram Stories, and clarified that the explicit photos were not of her.

“The events of this season have devastated me, and while I cannot say much right now, I do want to set the record straight about one thing: the graphic sexual photo surrounding the events in Episode 5. That photo was not me," Eady wrote.

“I do not know who was in that photo, but upon seeing it for the first time recently, I now know it was not me,” Eady continued in her statement. “I look forward to seeking accountability and moving past this dark part of my life."
