The devastating news comes just weeks after it's revealed that Mark and his wife Michelle Keegan are expecting their first baby together.

Eddie passed away on Monday night surrounded by his family and loved ones, a spokesperson told the Mail.

Shortly after Eddie was hospitalised, Mark's father Big' Mark Wright, shared a photo of his dad on Instagram.

He proudly wrote: "Happy fathers day to the best unfortunately in hospital at the moment after a fall a couple of days ago but dad I’m on my way up to see you now keep strong."

Eddie appeared on BBC series Who Do You Think You Are? in 2019 alongside his former Towie star grandson.

Mark previously said doing the show was motivated by his granddad.

He said: "I've wanted to find out our family history forever, as my Grandad has always guessed where we're from. But nobody’s ever known.

"He was told my family of his that we were Italian and to be able to give this back to him is great. He's done so much for us, he's our king.

"It's hard to repay him but this was that moment before it's too late."

Last week, Mark and Michelle announced their happy news on social media.

They shared a stunning photo of Michelle cradling her bump on a beach in Mallorca as Mark walked towards her.

They captioned the post: "2025 is going to be a special one for us…"

Revealing why they chose the Spanish island for their special photoshoot, a source told The Sun: “Michelle and Mark went on a winter sun break in early November and chose to take the photograph there.

“It was taken on an empty beach by a friend when they knew no one would spot them.

“Majorca is like a second home to them so it felt special for them to take that photograph there.

“The lighting and the setting was just perfect, it was a beautiful moment.”

Wright time

Presenter Mark and actress Michelle, both 37, have faced continuous questions about babies.

But Mark once confessed he wanted to wait until he was finished with travelling the world.

Both he and Michelle have been taken all over the place with their busy jobs.

Most recently she was filming in Australia for the second series of BBC drama Ten Pound Poms.

And Mark told the Mirror: "I just want to make sure I'm all travelled out. I'm getting to the point where I just want to settle now at home and have a job that brings me home every day, but I'm not quite there yet."

Michelle has also hit out at the constant quizzing over when they would have a baby.

She previously said: "It's horrible.

"People don't know if we're trying. They don't know the background of what's happening.

"In this day and age, you shouldn't be asking questions like that. I'm asked purely because I'm a woman.

"But I'm immune to it now – it's like a reaction, and as soon as I hear it I brush it off as it's no one else's business."
