Leah McSweeney’s Bravo and Andy Cohen Lawsuit Hits Court This Month ngocc

Real Housewives of New York alum Leah McSweeney’s lawsuit against Bravo, Andy Cohen, and others has reached an unprecedented level.

Earlier this year, Leah filed a lawsuit accusing RHONY showrunners of encouraging her to drink alcohol in excess while filming in an attempt to boost ratings, despite her addiction and mental health struggles. She alleges that this caused her to relapse. She also accused Andy of doing cocaine with other Housewives – which he has vehemently denied. Leah was a cast member for two seasons, later signing on for a season of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip.

Since filing suit, Leah and her attorneys have had several small successes. They’ve picked up even more steam now; a date has been set for a judge to hear oral arguments from both sides in an NYC court.

According to Page Six, Leah’s suit is marching on. It’s about to hit the courtroom for the first time on October 30. Judge Lewis J. Liman will get to hear oral arguments from both sides.

Lawyers representing Bravo, Andy, and Shed Media (the production team responsible for RHONY) have previously filed motions to dismiss and pause discovery in Leah’s suit.

A source says that the upcoming hearing will be a chance for the defense to argue for their motion to dismiss. It’ll also be an opportunity for Leah’s team to fight against dismissal.

This isn’t the first time the network has been sued by a Bravoleb. However, it’s likely the first time it will make it into court. Real Housewives of Atlanta alum NeNe Leakes sued Bravo, but eventually dropped it. Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Caroline Manzo currently has a case pending.

Making it to the oral argument hearing phase is just another small win for Leah. Last month, her lawyers were granted permission to dig into the defense’s private recordings and documents while moving forward with discovery.

So far, neither Leah’s team nor the defense’s team has commented on this news. However, a recently disgruntled Brandi Glanville will probably be celebrating Bravo’s disappointment on her social media at any moment!
