Fans Express Disappointment Over Ilona and Alan's DWTS Performance, Citing a Sense of Unease trucc

Dancing with the Stars' fans say they were 'underwhelmed' by Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten's first semi-finals dance.

Fans of Dancing With the Stars weren't exactly impressed with Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten first semi-finals dance.

DWTS Season 33's penultimate episode saw the final five couples bring viewers their best dances yet. However, some weren't convinced that Ilona brought her best when she and Alan danced the Paso Doble to Unholy (Orchestral Version) by Sam Smith and Kim Petras.

Judge Derek Hough said that the rugby player "owned" her dance and then proceeded to give her a "cringey" slow clap, but fans on Reddit slammed the dance.

One person wrote: "Choreo was terrible," as another added: "The timing was off, like come on."

A third slammed: "llona is hitting the timing but just doesn't have dancer fluidity."

A fourth commented: "I'm so underwhelmed by the choreography?? Come on Alan this is the SEMI-FINALS you know better."

A fifth pointed out: "The music is killing me tonight. I hate this song and this arrangement is sooo weird and making this dance just odd to me. Ilona is slaying though but the music just makes me uncomfortable and I can't explain why lol."

Others added: "I’m missing something because I don’t think Ilona is in the same level as Chandler and Joey," and "ilona did amazing!!!! but something seemed a bit off..."

Yet another added: "I think Ilona was confident and stunning and strong but the choreo and technique let her down. Alan needs to focus on correcting mistakes more because we all see them and want her to go to the end."

Meanwhile, fans couldn't get over Derek's "cringey" slow clap.

On Reddit, one person slammed: "Hot take - the Derek clap is cringe and he keeps trying to make it happen."

Another added: "The Derek dramatic clap is so dumb to me lol," as a third said: "I hate that clap derek does lol."

Yet another commented: "Derek's slow clap is the equivalent of a Paul Hollywood handshake ikyk."

Others slammed Hough's sister host Julianne Hough's outrageous outfit within the first couple minutes of the semi-finals.

The former pro dancer wore a dark nude floor-length gown that had a high neck and flowing sleeves.
