The best of friends often have the biggest disagreements. And Craig Conover admits that it happens quite a bit with friend and castmate, Austen Kroll. The two friends not only work together on Southern Charm but also several other projects.
Craig admitted that he and Austen aren’t always on the same page. This is not surprising considering the amount of time they spend together. The two reality TV castmates are set to open a new establishment in Charleston called By the Way.
Butting heads
According to Craig, By the Way isn’t their first business venture together. They also do a podcast together and have a business in New York City. It’s a lot to have on their plates and working together can strain friendships considering the up-and-down nature of entrepreneurship.
“We butt heads a lot,” Craig admitted about his relationship with Austen to Life & Style. “We have to be careful because we’ve got our podcast (Pillows and Beer) and we also own Carriage House in NYC. It definitely puts stress on our relationship, but it also pulls us through a lot of things.”
And this is not the first time Craig has admitted to being frustrated with Austen. He also talked about it in an interview with his girlfriend, Summer House star Paige DeSorbo for her Amazon talk show, In Bed with Paige DeSorbo.
Craig mentioned that Austen was the Bravo star who “annoys him the most.” But he also quickly clarified that he deeply cares for Austen too. “I love him,” Craig added.
And I guess that’s the way it goes. Those who annoy us the most are often those who are closest to us. But it’s really only because we care.
And with the upcoming opening of By the Way, Craig and Austen are sure to continue to butt heads in the future. The restaurant is set to open this fall and has already been hosting fun pop-ups and VIP events to give people a taste of what’s to come. The exact opening has yet to be announced.
