"What Just Happened?": Love Island Fans Furious Over Casa Amor Twist's Sudden End trucc

It is over before it has really begun, with just hours left until the recoupling ceremony

The much-anticipated Casa Amor segment of Love Island is wrapping up sooner than fans expected, with the recoupling ceremony just around the corner.

Tuesday night's episode (July 8) concluded with a sneak peek of the upcoming recoupling, which is scheduled for tomorrow, marking the conclusion of Casa Amor - and the preview showed several contestants looking rather downcast.

The tension will peak on Wednesday night's show (July 9), but it's still up in the air whether the drama will be delivered in one go or spread over two episodes. With numerous Islanders having their loyalty tested this year, this recoupling could be one of the most dramatic to date.

Meg and Dejon, who have been together for some time, both faced temptation in Casa. Despite his flirtations with newcomer Andrada, Dejon confessed to the lads that he'd be gutted if Meg coupled up with someone else back at the main villa.

Emily might be facing disappointment too, as she admitted that none of the new entries compared to Tommy. However, Tommy seems to have been swayed by Lucy in Casa and appears ready to pursue a connection with her

Viewers quickly voiced their thoughts on the imminent end of Casa Amor, with one fan commenting: "Wait, Casa Amor's over already?", while another expressed dissatisfaction: "Recoupling on a Wednesday is so dead give them a couple more days."

Some viewers pointed out a perceived discrepancy in the time the lads enjoyed with their bombshells, compared to the girls back at the main villa. One remarked: "They gave the girls 48 hours with the Casa boys. What is happening?"

When the chaps initially took off for Casa Amor to encounter six new single ladies, the girls hosted a pyjama party and had a sound night's rest before the arrival of the bombshell gents. This schedule meant that they had one fewer evening to spend with the fresh faces.

Yet another viewer expressed frustration, saying: "I swear we used to get a week of Casa and a post card," while an eager fan of the series speculated: "There's gonna be like 30 new couples after this Casa recoupling."

Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
