It's the most wonderful time of the year Washington Capitals fans as we gear up for hockey season
On Wednesday the Washington Capitals held their closed to the public media day where players did their tests and physicals and fired up the content. But first here's a wayback Wednesday of the original team media guide from Ted Starkey of Newsday.Here's some more direct from the team themselves:
Spencer Carbery recently joined The Sports Junkies which you can stream on Monumental Sports Network and he said this about what to possibly expect come training camp time:
"There may be as many as nine or ten new faces in our lineup opening night, which is significant. There's a lot of great players that we added to the roster. ...There's a lot of new faces (I'm) looking forward to seeing.""
He added this about newcomer Pierre Luc Dubois via Ethan Cadeaux of Monumnental Sports Network:
""Bringing in Pierre-Luc, I feel like for us and where we're at as an organization, as a team, it's a good trade to acquire someone that could potentially be a difference maker, especially at the center position. Those players are really tough to find and do not grow on trees. Usually, to acquire a player like that, you have to draft in the top five. We're not interested in drafting in the top five. That trade gives us the opportunity to bring someone in that has a ton of potential and we can help reach that potential. "

Of course days after trading Darcy Kuemper for Pierre-Luc Dubois the Caps made another deal with the Vegas Golden Knights over draft weekend to acquire their number two goalie in Logan Thompson. Carbery would add this about the former Golden Knight netminder.
""(Logan) has been the guy at various points in Vegas. Now coming to us, I think it's a great tandem. Two guys that are going to push each other to play games. Logan is trying to earn more opportunity to be a 1A guy."
