Bubbling over. Carl Radke butted heads with Lindsay Hubbard amid drama surrounding their relationship — after her issues with Amanda Batula spilled over to the group.
Tension was high on season 7, episode 6, of Summer House as the cast tried to bounce back from Kyle Cooke yelling at Lindsay, 36, over her alleged mean girl tactics one week prior.
“I haven’t spoken to Kyle since last weekend. I know I need to. I haven’t had the, I don’t want to say balls, but probably balls, because I just worry our friendship is in serious jeopardy,” Carl, 38, confessed during the Monday, March 20, episode, referring to Kyle, 40, blowing up at his now-fiancée, Lindsay, for her mistreatment of Kyle’s wife, Amanda, 31. “But I need to tell Kyle, ‘Never talk to my girlfriend like that.’”
The Loverboy founder — who warned Carl on the March 6 episode to “be careful” of Lindsay the “master manipulator” — felt the awkwardness as well on Monday’s show. “This is the first time that I’ve had real anxiety about what I’m going to say to my best friend,” Kyle told the cameras. “I feel literally like a fish out of water.”
Amanda, for her part, decided to take the high road after claiming that Lindsay never accepted her apology earlier in the summer. (The New Jersey native previously said that the Hubb House PR founder “tainted” Carl amid their budding romance. She then showed receipts of their text exchange in which Amanda said “sorry” and Lindsay never responded.)
“As sad as I was last weekend, I decided to come back because I’m not going to let anyone let alone Lindsay dictate how I’m going to spend my summer,” Amanda said.
Despite being at the center of the drama, Lindsay appeared to be unfazed on Monday’s episode by what had transpired. “I know that Carl is planning on talking to Kyle so I have zero intentions whatsoever of having any conversation of my own,” Lindsay quipped during a confessional. “I plan on having a good f—king time.”
However, the publicist’s decision to avoid Amanda and not clear the air didn’t sit well with Carl. In fact, the Pittsburgh native called out his then-girlfriend for not trying hard enough with her after he and Kyle squashed their own beef. (Carl proposed to Lindsay in August 2022.)
“Don’t make this more difficult than it is. I think you two should talk,” Carl told the Florida native at the group’s Studio 54 party. “I’m facing the s—t that I’ve gotta face and I’m dealing with it. That’s what I’m talking about with Kyle.”
Lindsay didn’t like her partner’s tone and quipped, “Why are you getting mad [at] me?” Carl fired back, “I’m not upset with you,” which only caused Lindsay to get more defensive.
“Well then don’t come at me,” she fired back, to which Carl replied, “Trust me, I’m not coming at you. You’ll know when I’m coming at you.”
Summer House airs on Bravo Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.

Kyle and Carl Talk Out Their Issues
Carl pulled Kyle aside ahead of the house’s big weekend bash to discuss his former boss’ big fight with Lindsay the week prior. “Listen, Saturday night was hard to be around that,” Carl confessed, to which Kyle responded, “I just kind of snapped.” The salesman noted that he “appreciated” Kyle’s text apology after the incident, but revealed he’d never seen his best friend “get that angry,” which was worrisome.
“I don’t like the way you were speaking about Lindsay. Do you guys even like me and Lindsay?” Carl asked, referring to both Kyle and Amanda’s opinions about his partner. Kyle got real saying, “I’m going to be honest, you’ve changed and that’s because you’re spending a lot more time with Lindsay.”
The entrepreneur continued: “Take your boyfriend hat off for a second, I still come back to the fact that our friendship has changed. Where that stems from is the tension between Lindsay and Amanda.”
Kyle then asked Carl what Amanda had done to warrant Lindsay being mean to her. Carl pointed to the fact the Loverboy creative director allegedly told Lindsay it was “too soon” for the couple to be looking at houses together. “I never talked about you or your relationship that way. It seems like there’s a lot of deeper s—t,” Carl explained, to which Kyle replied, “You guys are reading between lines that don’t exist. Amanda walks on eggshells with Lindsay.”
While Carl argued that it was “the other way around” and Lindsay was walking on eggshells around Amanda, the two men ultimately decided to bury the hatchet. “I just really care about our friendship,” Carl told his longtime pal, who agreed. “Let’s make this oath to one another: No matter what’s going on with the ladies, let’s not get in the middle of the type of stuff that’s going to drive a wedge between us,” Kyle concluded.
Carl Calls Out Lindsay for Not Being Nice to Amanda
As Carl was speaking with Kyle, Amanda confided in Paige DeSorbo about the drama surrounding her relationship with Lindsay. “Lindsay uses the word friend … she weaponizes it against me. [Saying] that I’m not a good friend,” the marketing director revealed. “I am in a place where I’m like, ‘Lindsay, I’m sorry you feel that way but I’m not apologizing for anything else.’”
Lindsay, meanwhile, grew upset when she learned that so much of Carl and Kyle’s chat was centered around her and Amanda. “I feel better. I’m not OK with how he spoke to you obviously but what Kyle said Saturday night was a direct result of something that happened to Amanda,” Carl told his then-girlfriend, asking, “I don’t know if you’re ever comfortable talking to her?”
Lindsay fired back: “That’s what you talked about? That was a very long conversation and the entire thing was about me?” While the businesswoman claimed she is a “very direct communicator,” Carl wondered if she could make more of an effort with Amanda since she is his best friend’s wife.
“I wish we could be closer friends, the four of us,” Carl confessed, but Lindsay was still unsure about making any more effort. She explained: “I don’t need to beg for a conversation. She led me to believe there would be a bigger conversation in person.” Carl, however, didn’t let it go asking, “That’s kind of what I’m saying, there’s a conversation that could be had.”
Danielle Voices Concerns Over Lindsay and Carl’s Dynamic
Danielle Olivera got involved in the drama after watching Carl and Lindsay get into a fight by the pool and then brush it off to play beer pong. “Every time I see Lindsay in a chat she’s just heated,” Danielle, 34, told Carl later in the day. “Trying to communicate and talk can be hard sometimes when she’s drunk. … She wasn’t receptive,” Carl shared, to which Danielle said, “For two of the most outspoken people, you sure internalize a lot of things.
The app developer then told the cameras: “When I see Carl and Lindsay, I want them to have a relationship where they can talk about the hard stuff.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Danielle confronted her best friend about the relationship issues she sees after Paige, 30, spilled the beans to Lindsay about her concerns. “She was like, ‘Danielle your best friend is worried about your relationship,’” Lindsay said to Danielle, who responded, “Always. That’s a best friend. … I literally said, I think that you guys are moving hella fast. It is fast. I’m allowed to say that.”
Lindsay, however, didn’t think knowing someone for six years was moving too fast. “You’re getting so f—king defensive it’s annoying,” Danielle fired back, noting that she thought Lindsay and Carl were living in a fairy tale since they “don’t like to have fights” or “talk about real stuff.”
The tech guru added: “I don’t want to lose two of my best friends. Sometimes it feels like I am [losing you]. You’re relationship sometimes feels off-limits for me to talk to you about. I’m not trying to talk s—t about your relationship.” Lindsay insisted, “You’re never going to lose me.” (The BFFs have since had a falling out following Lindsay’s engagement to Carl in summer 2022.)
The House Wonders If Lindsay Is Changing Herself for Carl
Danielle wasn’t the only housemate who voiced concerns over Lindsay’s sudden change of personality amid her new relationship. After Lindsay decided not to go to Montauk with Danielle and newbie Sam Feher, Mya Allen took notice.
“Lindsay was definitely trying to go,’ Mya, 31, told Paige the following morning. “She’s definitely trying to act better for him,” Paige noted, which the baker agreed with.
Mya noted that Lindsay appeared to be shifting her priorities “at the expense of what she wants to do,” which was bothersome. “You’re making sacrifices for your partner and in my mind, it leads to resentment,” she added.
