A STRICTLY star has been rushed to hospital with "shooting pains" after developing "rashes all over my body".
Saffron Barker, 24, said doctors feared she’d caught a tropical disease after falling ill soon after returning home from a trip away.
The YouTube star, who boasts more than two million followers, appeared on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing with dancer AJ Pritchard in 2019.
In an update to fans posted from her bed, she wrote: “Thank you so much for all your well wishes, after a week I finally feel somewhat normal again.
“The doctors thought I’d caught a tropical disease from a mosquito when I was away.”
Describing her symptoms, Saffron said: “I had all the symptoms (of a tropical disease) being, rashes all over my body, headache, body aches, shooting pains in my body, temperature, sore throat and ears etc.”
Saffron uploaded a photo of her arm with a tube attached, as she revealed: “After getting my bloods taken turns out I didn’t have that but my white blood cells were half the number they should be so very low and therefore my whole body was trying to fight the infection.”
Saffron then shared a video of her arms and told fans: “This is what the rashes looked like all over my body.”
Luckily, the content creator appears to be on the mend as she posted again from the bath.
She wrote: “Today is the first day I have woken up and they are settling so feeling grateful.”
It's the second time this year that Saffron has had to seek medical help.
In January, she sparked concern amongst fans after revealing she injured herself.
The YouTuber was enjoying a skiing holiday before suffering a nasty fall.
Posting on Instagram, Saffron told her followers she fell in the snow on the first day of her trip.
The 24-year-old could be seen lying in the snow while an emergency team checked her out.
She was then taken down by a stretcher before being medically assessed off the slopes.
Worried fans flooded her with well wishes as one wrote: "Oh saff it would be you, i hope your okay though keep us updated my love."
A second said: "Bad luck. Get well soon."
A third wrote: "Oh sweetheart sending you lots of love xx."
YouTuber Saffron, from Brighton, shot to fame through her popular videos on beauty, fashion and lifestyle and is known for In My Day with Saffron Barker.
She also launched a clothing line at Primark.
