Strictly Come Dancing stars spark feud rumours with social media snub liennhi

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Nick Knowles has fueled feud rumours with a social media snub.

The TV presenter noticeably did not follow his co-star Jamie Borthwick from EastEnders on Instagram, unlike the other contestants.

This social media oversight has led to speculation of a possible rift between the two.

It comes after the DIY SOS star revealed he is too exhausted from training to consider the Strictly Come Dancing curse.

He said: “I barely have the energy to walk out to the car afterwards. The Strictly curse isn’t an issue.

“I did a day’s training yesterday, and I literally crawled out to the car and sat with my feet in a bath of cold water for an hour when I got home.”

The 61-year-old is to wed for the third time after getting engaged to Katie Dadzie, 4, last year.

This year’s Strictly line-up has the fewest female celebrities in the show’s history, with just six women up against nine men.

As a result, professional dancer Kai Wriddington, who was partnered with broadcaster Angela Rippon in the last series, will not be paired with a celebrity this year.

A source said: “Kai has become the first casualty of this year’s male-heavy line-up.

“With so few female celebrities it was inevitable that some of the professionals would miss out on a pairing, but it’s a real blow that Kai is one of them.

“He had a great run last series with Angela and is a fan favourite.

"But, just like last year with Nadiya when she wasn’t given a partner, bosses have to look at a number of factors when choosing which dancer to pair with which celebrity.

“They look at everything from height through to chemistry tests to see who will work best together and it’s meant Kai has missed out.

“He will be part of the group dances alongside other males who haven’t been selected this year.”

In previous years, there was typically a 50/50 split between the sexes.

However, the male bias this year has raised concerns that the show's bullying scandal may have discouraged women from signing up.

The pressure is mounting for the BBC to create successful pairings after accusations against Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima put a spotlight on the show's training regimes.

Graziano was sacked over allegations of abuse against Made in Chelsea star Zara McDermott.

Colleague Giovanni Pernice is being investigated following similar complaints from his Sherlock actress partner Amanda Abbington.
