Wynne Evans has opened up about the 'nasty' injury he suffered, but wasn't clear if it happened while taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing tour earlier this year.
The opera singer and broadcaster took part in the BBC One dance contest last year, where he was paired with professional dancer Katya Jones.
They were the eigth couple to leave the competition after putting on their best performance during the show's annual Blackpool special. But it wasn't enough as the pair found themselves in the dreaded dance-off for a second week in a row.
Wynne and Katya went up against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe during the eighth results show of the series, the second time the pairing his found themselves in the dance-off during the 2024 series.
But all was not lost as Wynne and Katya then signed up to the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour, which kicked off back in January before ending in early February, and saw a number of stars from Strictly's 20th-anniversary series performing for fans in arenas up and down the country.
However, Wynne's Strictly journey came to an abrupt end on January 28 in Liverpool, 11 days after the tour's opening night in Birmingham, after Wynne confirmed he was taking a step back from his work commitments.
After issuing an apology for a 'inappropriate' remark during the tour's launch, Wynne told how he'll 'take some time out' after he found himself in the midst of a new controversy.
He said in a statement, which was posted to his Instagram Story: "I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing."
Months on and on Tuesday (April 22), Wynne took to Instagram, where he was seen opening up a Q&A to his followers after asking them to "ask me anything".
Many of his followers were asking about his wellbeing following his Strictly controversies and his abscence from his radio show. The 53-year-old was asked again: "Are you ok? Hope so," to which he responded: "I'm ok, it's been tough, but the truth will win."
Another told Wynne: "Like everyone else - miss you and your laugh in the mornings," to which he responded: "Let's hope we're laughing again soon."
But aside from that, Wynne was asked how his running was going as he was originally seen sweating it out in the gym while on holiday in Dubai. It was then when he revealed: "Can't run at the moment since breaking my foot in January."
It led to another fan asking how his recovery was going, and Wynne wasn't very positive. He typed back: "Not brilliant, but was a really nasty break."
At the time of the Strictly Live tour, Wynne revealed that he'd suffered an injury. He took to his Instagram Storie at the times to share a picture of his swollen ankle and wrote as the caption: "Turned my ankle last night in the show but I'm being a brave soldier."
