A Strictly Come Dancing star and their wife have announced the exciting news that they are expecting their first child together
Strictly Come Dancing star Jamie Laing has announced that he is going to become a father for the first time. The BBC Radio 1 presenter shared the heart-warming news on Instagram with his followers in a video. In the footage, his wife Sophie Habboo is seen getting her first baby scan, with Jamie sweetly asking her how she's feeling. It comes just a few days after the couple announced that they would be stepping away from their podcast, Newly Weds, for a break. The pair originally met on the E4 reality TV show, Made in Chelsea, and tied the knot in April 2023 in a legal ceremony in Chelsea, London.
Jamie added a heart emoji as the caption, and has been flooded with support from his friends and followers. Fellow Strictly star Tasha Ghouri said, "Ahhhh congratulations!!!"
Strictly star Dianne Buswell commented, "Omg congratulations guys so so exciting." Love is Blind host Emma Willis also chimed in, "Congrats you beauties," along with several heart emojis.
Fellow BBC Radio 1 presenter Mollie King said, "The best news!! Congratulations guys! See you later for a massive hug!"
Earlier this month, Jamie's co-host on BBC Radio 1 also announced that they were pregnant. Less than two years after their wedding, Vick Hope shared the news on-air during her show, marking a new chapter for the couple.
She told fans: “I should probably also say this is my final week before I go on maternity leave.” She married Scottish DJ Calvin Harris at Hulne Priory in Alnwick, Northumberland.
Known for keeping their private lives away from the spotlight, the couple made an exception to share their happy news publicly. Jamie said, “You’re an amazing friend, an amazing person, and you’re just going to be an amazing mum.” Vick replied, “Oh, thank you.”
