STRICTLY Come Dancing returned tonight with NO mention of the bullying investigation as frustrated viewers hit out.

Over the past few months, the BBC series has faced one scandal after another.

The show, which has run for 20 series, has been hit by claims of abuse by two pro stars, Italians Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima.

Actress Amanda Abbington, 50, claimed she was mistreated by Giovanni, 33, which he has denied.

The results are still to be revealed, despite the show returning tonight.

After a 90s themed pro group dance opened the show, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman arrived on the dancefloor.

But as they introduced the judges, the band and then the celebrity contestants, there was no mention of the investigation hanging over the show.

And it left some Strictly Come Dancing viewers annoyed and venting their frustrations on X.

One wrote: "No apology from #Strictly can the #BBC get any abuse decisions right."

Another added: "No apologies or did I expect it from @BBCOne
Nothing happened carry on #Strictly."

A third commented: "No apologies yet #Strictly."

The launch show also featured a special routine to welcome Amy Dowden back onto the show after her brave cancer battle.

Amy, 34, was unable to perform during the 2023 series as she underwent chemotherapy but having come out the other side of her battle, she's back doing what she loves.

And it's safe to say, Strictly fans were delighted - and more than a little emotional - to see her back.
