Scheana Shay is clapping back at claims of intentionally drawing attention to the fact that Ariana Madix was not present when her brother, Jeremy Madix, celebrated his birthday earlier this week.
After the 39-year-old Vanderpump Rules star shared a video of Jeremy with her fans and followers on social media from an “intimate birthday dinner” in his honor, she was accused of highlighting Ariana’s absence, which she quickly denied.
“I could be reading too much into it, but did Scheana purposely show the whole table to make it known that Ariana is not spending her brother’s birthday with him?” Taste of Reality asked on X, formerly known as Twitter, as they shared a clip Scheana had posted on her Instagram Story.
In the clip, Scheana and the group, including her husband, Brock Davies, and their daughter, Summer Moon, 3, sang “Happy Birthday” to Jeremy as he was presented with an ice cream dessert.
While Scheana certainly let her online audience see who was in attendance, she denied doing so in an effort to remind people about Jeremy and Ariana’s strained relationship.
“Def reading too much into it lol. I was simply showing my daughter singing and his fiancé,” Scheana replied, giving a nod to Rachael, who Jeremy got engaged to in March.
Meanwhile, on Jeremy’s own Instagram page, he shared a photo of the group at dinner and thanked those who have sent him kind words.
“Intimate birthday dinner with a great group of friends! Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and we will see you all [at Jax’s Studio City] on Sunday the 26th for my birthday party!” he shared from Palmilla Cocina y Tequila restaurant in Newport Beach, California.
“Happy birthday lovey!! I can’t wait to celebrate with you!” replied Kristen Doute, 41.
During a March interview with Us Weekly, after previously sharing that he hadn’t spoken to his sister in months, Jeremy admitted that his fiancée was at the center of their feud.
“There’s been some small microaggressive gestures toward my fiancée, and that’s what’s led to me not talking to my sister. It’s been going on for quite some time,” he explained. “I think that we’ve just been kind of letting it pass, because of course I’m always going to have my sister’s back. But I was put in a position where I choose my sister, or do I choose the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with?”
The Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion concludes next Tuesday, May 28, with part three at 8/7c on Bravo.
