Wendy Osefo wants “disciplinary action” taken against Mia Thornton.
Nearly a year after Mia threw a drink on her amid the Real Housewives of Potomac cast’s trip to Miami, Wendy is wondering why her castmate has yet to face consequences and commenting on Robyn Dixon‘s decision to withhold Juan Dixon‘s interaction with another woman from the show.
“Every time I see the clip of Mia assaulting me and throwing a drink in my face, I’m still beside myself. I can’t believe that happened,” Wendy admitted to Insider on March 3. “It really did impact me in a way that I felt violated … For me, throwing a drink in someone’s face — especially one you’ve already sipped from — is analogous to almost spitting on them. I just felt as though that was one of the highest forms of disrespect.”
According to Wendy, who feuded with Mia over Peter Thomas prior to the altercation, there aren’t “any excuses” for her co-star’s behavior.
“I am someone who takes pride in my ability to convey my messages through the use of my words, and Mia’s inability to do that, and the fact she got flustered, and she thought the best way to combat me was to physically attack me, is something I just can’t stand beside,” she stated.
But while Wendy believes more needs to be done, she said she was not “privy” to any investigation into the matter.
“I don’t know the inner workings, or the backstories to how cast members are disciplined, or what happens to them when things like this occur,” she said. “What I do know is that disciplinary action should take place … You should not come to work feeling as though you are going to be attacked or assaulted. And in the event that does happen, there should be ramifications for it.”
“I do not believe people should be able to walk freely and just go about hitting, punching, slapping, throwing drinks on people. [And] I do not believe that when we assault each other there should be no consequences. This is the real world, right? It’s reality TV. In the real world, if you assault somebody, you will face consequences,” she added.
As for her thoughts on Robyn, Wendy asked, via Insider, “Why are you on the show?”
“The whole point of this show is for us to live our real lives in front of the camera, and when you see a cast member who willingly withholds information, they’re not living their real life,” she noted.
Although Wendy said she doesn’t expect Robyn to scream that “her [then-]fiancé cheated on her,” she does expect her to “have a conversation” with her RHOP castmates if this is her “real life.”
“You would have a conversation with people on this cast that you’re friends with, and you would tell them why you are depressed, and let them know that you’re depressed because your fiancé cheated on you,” Wendy explained.
After Robyn came forward with Juan’s missteps, insisting he and his other woman “did not date,” she excused her decision to keep the information to herself (until the woman came forward), claiming that others on the show have kept aspects of their lives from the cameras. However, according to Wendy, that was nothing more than “a form of deflection.”
“This season I was rushed to the emergency room. I didn’t have to record my emergency room stay — my husband did that. I showed you guys my hair loss and how I’m balding. I didn’t have to share that with you. I could have worn my wigs and you guys would have been none the wiser,” she pointed out. “I have brought my authentic self to this show — the ups, the downs, the ins, the outs. So, I think that instead of deflecting, and looking at other castmates and pointing fingers, she should look inward on why she has been living a lie.”
While Robyn withheld the scandal from her castmates amid filming on season seven, she did sit down with Andy for an extended interview that aired in a post-The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion special on Sunday, March 5, on Bravo.
