RHOM’s Guerdy Abraira Celebrates Being Cancer-Free, Opens Up About Her Brave Journey and Decision to Go Public tram

RHOM star Guerdy Abraira has been publicly battling cancer since May of this year when she first shared her diagnosis. At that time, she asked for empowerment instead of pity from fans. Since then, the reality star has shared milestones from throughout her journey to being cancer-free. Guerdy was first diagnosed in March.

In June, she shared that she had undergone surgery for her breast cancer, and in a video message shared on her official Instagram account, she stated that her fans’ prayers helped her make it through the ordeal.

Then, the RHOM star shared in September that she was embarking on her final chemotherapy treatment. She shared the news surrounded by friends, family, and medical professionals from the hospital. Guerdy, 45, is married to Russell Abraira, and the pair have two children together.

The latest good news is that Guerdy shared at BravoCon that she is now cancer-free. She stated this on the RHOM panel, which Danny Pellegrino moderated.

After being embraced by cheers from the audience, Guerdy said, “I’m about to ring the radiation bell on Wednesday, so that’s exciting as well. I’m very excited, and I’m so blessed, and I literally wake up every morning counting my blessings and making it count.”

“Remember that. Make it count!” she said to the audience as they continued to show their support by clapping and cheering.

The RHOM star went on to address why she decided to share the news of her diagnosis. “Everyone’s like, ‘Why did you share?’ and then I go, ‘Why not?'”

She continued, “I was told I was going to be able to be treated, and I’ll be okay eventually, but we’re going to go through a hard time. And to me, I said to myself, ‘If I can show the good and the bad, then it’s only better. Because a lot of people who have cancer, they feel like they have the plague, and they don’t want to share, and they feel like something’s wrong with them, and they go into hiding. And I said to myself, ‘I’m not doing that. I’m not going out like that…’ Now it’s time to really be real on reality TV and show the bad as well. The good, bad, the ugly.”
