Dancing With The Stars has once again graced our television screens with its glamourous costumes and glitzy makeup but RTE warns that audiences must also dress up for the occasion
Dancing With The Stars is officially back and better than ever, with the biggest debut figures for the smash hit show since 2018.
The show is all about glitz and glamour with the celebs, judges, presenters and pro dancers always turning up in their best ensembles, and the same is expected of the lucky audience members.
Fans lucky enough to secure tickets to the Sunday night event are sent a dress code before the attend to ensure they fit in with the flash and flair of the event.
Those attending the show in person are warned that they will be turned away if their outfits do not match the criteria made by the show, with a message cautioning: “The dress code is GLAMOUR.
“As much as our celebrities sparkle, we want our audience to sparkle too!”
The message continues: “No logos or large branding can be on show. If you are wearing items of clothing with such, you will not be permitted to enter the studio.”
It continues: “Please formalise yourself with everything below:
“Jackets, Coats, Handbags and Phones must be handed into the cloakroom before entering your seats.
“Everyone attending must be aged 16 or older, under 16’s will NOT be permitted into studio.
“No Flash photography and banner/signs are allowed in studio. No logo or large branding are to be worn in the studio.”
The message also notes that if ticket holders are late to the show, their tickets “will be re-allocated”.
Speaking to The Sun, an audience member who attended the filming of week one of DWTS said: “We had an amazing time. We were lucky enough to get seats for week one, which came with all the weather warnings but was fine on the day.
“We were told to dress up, no casual clothing or anything so we had to dress up for it, which was also good fun.
“The show was excellent, Jennifer Zamparelli was great in between takes with the live crowd and the performances on the night were very impressive.”
An RTE spokesperson has said: "Dancing with the Stars is all about the glitz and glamour with amazing costumes, hair and makeup so we invite our studio audience to get into the mood and sparkle in their favourite looks - sequins and fringing optional."
The hit show returned for its eighth season on air at the beginning of this month, with new judge Karen Byrne and several new professional dancers.
The list of celebs competing for the coveted Glitterball trophy includes TV star Elaine Crowley, chef Kevin Dundon, meteorologist Joanna Donnelly and former Miss Universe Aishah Akorede.
