Months After Leaving RHOP, Candiace Dillard Bassett Tells All About Her Shocking Exit tram

The Real Housewives of Potomac will soon return for its 9th installment on Bravo. This follows what some considered a lackluster season 8. However, one face that wasn’t in the recently released trailer for the new season is Candiace Dillard Bassett‘s, as she’s no longer on the show. Now, the mom-to-be is opening up about why she left and how she feels about the production company behind the show.

Candiance joined RHOP during the show’s third season. Many were saddened and surprised by her abrupt announcement that she was leaving the show, especially as she made her departure known before the reunion for season 8 aired. She also announced that she and Chris Bassett were expecting their first child, which made her decision make more sense.

Recently, The Bravo Shaderoom Instagram account captured an interview in which Candiace discussed why she left the show. Specifically, the interviewer asked if she left because of her baby.

Candiace responds, “Yes. That is the only reason.”

However, she then says, “I was ready to go halfway through season eight. So many things were going on. Not just on camera with the cast, but behind the scenes.”

She continues, “I can’t be in battle with talent and production. That’s too much. Like, Tamar Braxton says all the time, ‘I only wanna have beef with the devil.’ I can’t be beefing with the devil, talent, and the people whose job it is to protect us.”

Candiace then says, “I started to not feel safe. This is not a slight at Bravo directly, but there were people at our production company who contributed to me just not feeling safe. So I don’t know. Pregnant or not, I was ready to go.”

She goes on, “But definitely, when we decided we were going to do an embryo implantation, I knew that it was not a safe space for me. My first egg retrieval failed because I was going through that process at the same time that the allegations about Chris making that girl feel uncomfortable came out. That all happened at the same time.”

For context, Candiance is referring to Gizelle Bryant‘s statement that Chris made her feel uncomfortable when he wanted to speak to her alone in a room.

She then says, “And my egg retrieval failed.”

Candiace and Chris have not revealed when their baby, her first and his fourth, is due, but they say the bundle of joy will arrive in the fall.
