Mickey Joe Harte was the first celebrity to be eliminated from series eight of Dancing With The Stars tonight in a surprise result.
The singer and his pro partner Daniela Roze had the lowest number of votes combined from the first three episodes of the series as they sashayed away.
It was Jack Woolley and Yasmin Seky who impressed the most tonight as they got the highest scores from the judges.
Opening the show, Kayleigh Trappe and her partner Ervinas Merfeldas could have done with sipping more coffee as their Cha-cha-cha to the Sabrina Carpenter's hit song Espresso only picked up 24.
Arthur Gourounlian said: "You had two amazing weeks, this was a little bit flat for me. I can't wait for you to bring more."
Brian Redmond added: "Espresso - I could have done with one. It could have done with more punch. I felt it never really got started."
Kevin Dundon and his partner Rebecca Scott cooked up an energetic Quickstep to Soda Pop by Robbie Williams featuring Michael Bublé and they got an improved score of 18.
Karen Byrne said: "It was surprisingly really good. There were a few dodgy moments here and there, we won't talk about them.
Loraine Barry added: "You definitely need tidying up, but you got through it."
Aishah Akorede and her partner Robert Rowiński have won constant praise from the judges so far this season and that continued after their passionate dramatic Tango to the Artemas track I Like the Way You Kiss Me . The earned 30.
Brian said: "You have this natural beauty and elegance and you control that really well. For you, less will always be more. Well done."
Loraine added: "The set, the mood, the colouring and the prop captivated everyone. You kept your composure all the way through it."
Heading into the first elimination tonight, Olympic gold medalist Rhys McClenaghan and his pro partner Laura Nolan sat pretty at the top of the leaderboard. They kept up their impressive start to the series and they stormed the dance floor with a Cha-cha-cha to the Bruno Mars hit Treasure. Their diamond finish got them 30.
Karen said: "You can see the work you have put with the cha cha technique. It was nice to see you smiling."
Arthur added: "The backflip was amazing. Dancing is the language of expression. Overall, it was a polished cha cha cha. You are a showman."
RTÉ star Joanna Donnelly had the judges, her co-stars and the people at home in tears with her waltz last Sunday. Tonight, she and her pro dance partner Maciej Zieba turned up the pace with a Samba to the reggae hit Give Me Hope Jo’anna.
Loraine said: "I saw a lot of samba, it was there. It wasn't done correctly, but it was there."
Karen added: "You are in the middle of the floor getting everyone clapping. I love your energy."
After impressing the judges with his incredible Charleston last week, getting four nine's Mrs. Brown’s Boys actor Danny O’Carroll was back with Salome as they danced a Jive to C’mon Everybody by Eddie Cochran. The dance didn't click for them and they didn't clean up with their score of 24.
Brian said: "There is no doubt about your work ethic. Keep working hard."
Karen added: "You are very cute to look at it. The music and steps are fast and you struggled to keep up. It still was a good jive."
The seventh couple to perform was Gearóid Farrelly and his partner Stephen Vincent and they slowed things down as they leaned into an elegant Viennese Waltz to R.E.M.’s Everybody Hurts . They held on for a total of 30.
Brian said: "Overall, the flow and power of movement we saw is exactly what we are looking for."
Arthur added: "That was a beautiful song and a beautiful dance. It was like watching a beautiful conversation. It wasn't just a dance, it was a moment."
Next up, Ireland AM's, Elaine Crowley impressed with being lifted during a sizzling Salsa to Turn the Beat Around by Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine with her partner Denys Samson. But her mistakes and a fashion mishap cost her when the scores were revealed. They got 20.
Karen said: "If you make a mistake, nobody cares. You kept going so be proud of yourself.
Brian added: "You put me out in a sweat. You listened to Denys and he put you back on track."
Kin actress Yasmin Seky and Simone Arena's kooky Charleston to Meghan Trainor and T-Pain's, Been Like This was a huge hit with Brian, Karen, Loraine and Arthur. They scored a whopping 36.
Loraine: said: "What a Charleston with lindy hop, swivels, kicks and flicks. It was all there."
Arthur: added: " I have been waiting for you to have a moment, and this was it!"
Mickey Joe Harte and his pro partner Daniela Roze followed suit with a Foxtrot to Hozier’s Too Sweet, and the comments and scores were just a a sweet. The Eurovision star was christened a "ballroom boy" as he picked up a total of 28.
Arthur said: "I was rooting for you - and you did it! You brought elegance to the ballroom. You demonstrated a smooth foxtrot."
Jack Woolley and Alex Vladimirov closed the show with a spectacular Jive to The Kid LAORI and Justin Bieber’s viral hit Stay and they got the highest score of the night - 33.
Brian said: "The energy was great and the timing was crystal clear."
Karen added: "I feel like, for once, I am lost for words. You are captivating to look at. "
