Gizelle Bryant of Real Housewives of Potomac has always been a woman who knows what she wants. So when the opportunity to check into Bravo’s Love Hotel came up, she seized the day. Even though her daughters initially thought she was insane for even considering it.
Bravo’s new housewives-specific dating show features Gizelle alongside three other housewives, namely Shannon Beador (Real Housewives of Orange County), Ashley Darby (RHOP), and Luann de Lesseps (Real Housewives of New York). The ladies are surrounded by eligible bachelors in the hopes of finding love.
RHOP’s Gizelle Bryant says daughters thought she was “insane” after joining the Love Hotel cast
Gizelle was already close to Ashley, but was pleasantly surprised to make easy connections with Shannon and Luann too. She sat down with Decider to talk about her experiences on the show and all the drama that came with it, including the controversy with host Joel Kim Booster and the love triangle with Luann.
“You never know what to expect from women when it comes to meeting me,” Gizelle admitted. “Our friendship always came first.”
Gizelle shared that Shannon provided “support and sisterhood,” while she affectionately called Luann the “dating pro.” She was still there, however, to reel her in when necessary. “We all know Luann’s all over the place,” Gizelle said lovingly.
And while Gizelle enjoyed her Love Hotel stay, she admits that her daughters, Grace, Angel, and Adore, were far more wary than she was about the new show.
“My daughters think I’m insane,” Gizelle laughed. “They were like, ‘What? You’re like on a dating show? Ma, no.’” It’s possible that their initial reaction was because they thought the show was going to be something like Love Island. Once they realized it was more age-appropriate, they were immediately on board.
“Once I was there, they were all in,” Gizelle shared. “They just had to trust me. They were like, ‘Ma, tell us about the guys? What do they look like? What do they act like? Are they rich?’”
Looks like Gizelle’s daughters are excited at the prospect of her meeting Mr. Right at the Love Hotel.
