The ITV2 reality show is back, with 16 new contestants moving into the house.

Big Brother is back for 2024, with 16 new housemates hoping to win viewers' votes and the cash prize.

The ITV2 show's launch night introduced this year's cast for the first time as hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best welcomed contestants to the house, this year making a welcome move back to a live first show.

Less than an hour into the show's launch, Big Brother had already started playing games by splitting the house into two groups, red and blue - although housemates weren't told what would happen to each group, just that they would have to pick a side.

By the end of the episode, they were told that the red group were being moved to live in "storage", an area with basic facilities, and would all be up for the first eviction. The blue group - which only includes Ali, Segun, Ryan, Khaled and Izaaz - will stay in the main house.

This year's series is set to run for six weeks and will air nightly on ITV2, with spin-off show Big Brother: Late & Live also returning with celebrity guests and discussion about all of the show's highlights.

As we wait to find out who will form alliances, who will fall out and who will have the most iconic Diary Room moments, this is the 2024 cast in full.

Big Brother 2024's housemates

Dean

Dean

Outspoken Dean from Walthamstow doesn't seem afraid of confrontation, warning in his intro: "Don't p*** me off."

He said: "I'll say what I want to say regardless of who's in the room...I don't really gel with manly men."

Marcello is a Peter Andre superfan. (ITV)

East Londoner Marcello wears many hats, as a youth worker, rapper, and a Peter Andre superfan.

He vowed to be a shoulder to cry on for his new housemates, saying: "If anyone needs me I am there all the way, it's my purpose in life to help people. And a little bit of trouble as well."

Sarah is in the Young Farmers' Club. (ITV)

Sarah from Shropshire is a spa account manager, but grew up on an egg farm and says she is a proud member of her local Young Farmers' Club.

She says she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, and warned: "I've got the patience of a boiling kettle and it takes one tiny thing for me to blow."

Izaaz is an estate agent who hates smelly breath. (ITV)

Estate agent Izaaz describes himself as a "proud Welshman" and the single dad gave a sweet shout out to his five-year-old son as he entered the house.

Izaaz mentioned a few times that his biggest worry in the house is other people's hygiene because he can't stand smelly breath.

Hanah doesn't shy away from an argument. (ITV)

Hanah calls herself a "drama queen" and admitted: "My friends might call me a dictator because I like to have things my way."

She said that anyone who crossed her twice had no chance of getting back into her good books, marking her out as the one to watch for conflict in the house.

Ryan got some boos from the crowd. (ITV)

Ryan from Blackpool works in marketing and called himself "the people's champ", claiming he could get on with anyone - although he got some boos from the crowd after complaining in his intro: "There's a lot of woke people out there."

He said of moving into the Big Brother house: "Free food and free accommodation, can't complain at that."

Thomas is proud of his England appearances. (ITV)

Thomas from Carlisle is an amputee football player who is hugely proud of his appearances for England - and is very competitive.

He said: "I'm as competitive as it goes. I'm in here for six weeks, so I've got to play it as it goes."

As he entered the house, he was recognised by Emma who said she had seen him at his audition for the show.

Ali plans to analyse her housemates. (ITV)

Ali from Leicester could have an advantage over her housemates as she is a forensic psychologist and confirmed: "I'll be analysing them."

However, she might be quite easy to read herself as she said: "Giving a bit of a side-eye or a bit of a cringe, I can't help it, my face gives me away."

Lily wants to become more independent on the show. (ITV)

Lily from Warrington has never lived away from home before and has been known to leave both the oven and the bath on, but says she plans on becoming an independent woman over the next six weeks.

She said: "I work in a Chinese takeaway. I love it, salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, curry sauce...I plan to work there for the rest of my life."

Martha wants to show nice people can win. (ITV)

Martha is originally from Margate, but now lives in Scarborough with her girlfriend who she says would "probably call me a nightmare".

She says she has no game plan and added: "I just want to be myself, I just want to show you can be a nice person."

Khaled is looking for love. (ITV)

Khaled is from Manchester, but moved to the UK with his family from Lebanon and said it was tough growing up as a refugee but that it made him close to his brothers.

It sounds like Khaled could be looking for love in the house, as he said: "I think modern dating has gone down the bin...I do like the idea of a traditional romance."

Daze is a climate activist who lives on a boat. (ITV)

Daze is a climate activist from London who admitted she would find it difficult if any of her new housemates didn't care about climate change.

She usually lives on a boat and said: "The community on the canals is really quite magical...I like to be alone, so this is going to be a challenge."

Nathan is a pork salesman. (ITV)

Scottish housemate Nathan has had some interesting jobs - he is currently a pork salesman and was previously a butler for the King.

Nathan loves to talk politics and said: "I'll try not to upset anyone, but people are easily upset at times."

Segun admits he's a mummy's boy. (ITV)

Segun from Watford is a self-confessed mummy's boy who loves music and is a committed Christian.

Asked whether he had faith he could win, he said: "I've got so much faith - let the games begin!"

He added: "I'm going to miss Mummy, hopefully I can find another mummy in there."

Emma thinks she'll be the house mum. (ITV)

An aesthetics practitioner from Manchester, Emma has promised: "I'm going to bring humour to the house and a little bit of sass."

The mother-of-three added: "I'm going to don that mother cap, especially if there's anyone in there that reminds me of one of my kids."

Rosie was first housemate in. (ITV)

Rosie was first into the house and works as a dental practice admin, admitting: "I can sometimes come across as weird and annoying."

She added: "I love tea, I can sometimes drink 20 cups a day," so it looks like she could be responsible for plenty of washing up in the house.

Big Brother continues on ITV2 at 9pm every night.
