Madison LeCroy shared the good news that her husband, Brett Randle, was in the clear after previously finding a tumor on his kidney during Season 10, Episode 14 of Southern Charm — and now, she's sharing more about his health journey.
“I’m glad that now we can finally say everything's good and we're happy and he's healthy," Madison said on the subsequent episode of the Southern Charm After Show.
Still, it took a lot of heartache to get to where they are today. According to Madison, the experience was "terrifying."
"I don’t think a lot of people understood that my dad was diagnosed with cancer at the same time my husband was diagnosed. But then my dad unfortunately passed. So for me, I was just like, there is a possibility that I'm not gonna have both of these people in my life forever," she explained. "That was terrifying, but then at the same time, I'm like, ‘OK, don't freak out because I've gotta be strong for him.’ And he's trying to do the same thing for me.”
Why Madison LeCroy's husband Brett kept his cancer scare private
Though Brett did speak about his issues on the show, he tried his best not to worry his wife. "He was very private in what was happening with him, because he also saw how upset I was over my dad," Madison shared on the Southern Charm After Show. "He's like, ‘I can't see you hurting so bad,' especially ‘cause he's scared."
So, both of them were trying to process and protect each other at the same time. And though she had a feeling things would turn out OK, there was still a worry there.
“He just gives off that energy where I always feel safe with him," she added. "I feel like I had no doubt, but there's always that, like three percent doubt that you're like, I just experienced this in the worst way possible.”
Did Brett Randle have cancer?
Brett was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the end of 2023. More recently, he discovered a tumor on his kidney, and for most of Southern Charm Season 10, he and Madison have been waiting to find out if it's cancerous. However, on Episode 14, Madison delivered the happy news that "Brett's tests came back and no cancer."
"It was just an abnormal tissue," she added.
