Love Is Blind’s Mark Anthony Cuevas Speaks Out About Breakup After Wife Aubrey Posted That ‘This Is News to Me’ (Exclusive) liennhi

Mark Anthony Cuevas of Love Is Blind has announced his split from his wife Aubrey Rainey after nearly three years of marriage, sharing that they decided together to "part ways" in an Instagram statement signed with both of their names.

Rainey, however, commented on the post that “this is news to me lol.”

On Saturday, March 29, the Netflix alum and podcast host, 31, shared the announcement after what he called "a lot of thought and conversations."

"Aubrey and I decided to part ways a few weeks ago," Cuevas wrote. "This wasn't an easy decision, but we both believe it's the best path forward for our individual growth and for our family. Our top priority will always be our boys. We're committed to co-parenting with love, respect, and teamwork so they feel supported and secure every step of the way."

"As we begin this new chapter, we kindly ask for your understanding and privacy, especially for the sake of our children," the Love Is Blind alum added. "We truly appreciate your support and respect during this time."

While the letter was signed "With gratitude, Mark & Aubrey," Rainey — who goes by Aubrey Cuevas on Instagram and shares sons Ace and Axton with her husband — soon commented under the post, alluding to being unaware of the announcement. TMZ was first to report on the Instagram comment: "this is news to me lol," she wrote.

Elsewhere on Facebook, where Cuevas also shared the split announcement via his verified account, Rainey left another comment and encouraged fans to "go ahead and head to instagram for the details."

"Because this was never a conversation or discussion," she wrote. "He got caught out with women and had to cover his tracks to maintain his 'public image.' i had no part in this statement and its news to me, as it is to everyone else."

Rainey later wrote in an Instagram Stories post, featuring an image of her and her sons' hands, that "life doesn't stop." "even when you feel like your world is falling apart," she wrote. "these boys are and have always been my only priority. lucky to be their mommy."

In a statement shared with PEOPLE on March 29, Cuevas wrote that the split has been "a deeply personal and difficult transition."

"While I chose to share a small part of it publicly, I want to be clear: my goal was never to create drama or disrespect anyone," Cuevas wrote.

"Aubrey and I, like many couples, faced our share of challenges. Ultimately, we decided to separate in hopes of creating a healthier, more peaceful environment for our kids," he added. "Right now, my focus is on being a present, loving father and doing what’s best for our boys."

The Love Is Blind alum added that there is "a lot being said online that simply isn’t true," and that he "won’t be engaging in back-and-forths."

"But I do hope people can remember there are two sides to every story, and more importantly, two children at the center of this," he wrote. "I’m doing my best to handle it with grace, and I hope others allow space for healing too."

The split news comes five years after Cuevas appeared on the first season of Love Is Blind — when he was briefly engaged to fellow contestant Jessica Batten before she said "no" at the altar. He and Rainey later got engaged in November 2020, before welcoming their boys in April 2021 and early 2022.

The pair tied the knot in September 2022 during an Ohio ceremony.

The reality TV alum most recently shared a video featuring his wife and kids on Instagram on March 13, and also shared a Valentine's Day and birthday dedication to Rainey earlier this year. "To the woman who laughs at my jokes even when they’re bad (which is rare, obviously), who supports me through every crazy idea I come up with, and who never lets me forget when I leave dishes in the sink — happy 30th birthday," he wrote. "Here’s to another 30 years of you putting up with me 🥂"

Rainey later shared a birthday post for Cuevas on March 1, calling him "the best husband, the best dad, and speaking for nova— the best dog dad." He commented in response: "This means so much. I love you and the life we’ve built ❤️"
