Emma Willis is opening up about her recent surgery.
The host of the U.K. edition of Love Is Blind shared that she had keyhole heart surgery following "investigations" and a diagnosis of her condition — a hole in her heart. In a post on Instagram shared on Wednesday, April 23, Willis, 49, shed light on her experience and thanked all those who cared for her during her stay at London's Royal Brompton Hospital.
"Turns out, I’ve been pottering around for 48 years blissfully unaware I had a hole in my heart 🤯 isn’t it bonkers what’s happening in our bodies that we have no idea about…" Willis wrote.
She continued, "What blows my mind even more is the wonders of modern medicine, and the spectacular people that save, fix and help us every single day. Can you imagine what it must feel like to have a pair of hand that can do that job?! They are the real superstar… ⭐️"
The presenter shared a range of photos from her hospital stay, which took place "a few weeks ago" — including pictures of herself rocking a hospital gown, leaning on husband Matt Willis for support, post-surgery snaps and photos with impactful hospital staff members.

Willis extended special thanks to her surgeon, Dr. Ee Ling Heng, who she said "has an ease and warmth that made me feel instantly comfortable," as well as her doctor Alexander Lyon and "echocardiogram extraordinaire" Professor Wei Li. She also noted a number of hospital employees who supported her emotionally as she prepared for the surgery and recovery afterward.
Willis became a co-host on Love is Blind U.K. in 2023, and also has had presenting roles on The Voice U.K., Delivering Babies and Cooking with the Stars.
