If traveling is a true test of a relationship, Nick and Vanessa Lachey are here to help you and your partner test your compatibility.
Recently, the "Love is Blind" hosts announced their new giveaway with Hotels.com that will send five new couples on an epic vacation together, just in time for cuffing season (that post-summer, pre-winter season where a lot of would-be couples link up).
"The first trip we took together was a tropical one," Vanessa shared with Travel + Leisure in an interview. However, Nick disagreed, noting Vanessa actually came on tour with him across the country first. However, like the absolutely relatable and adorable couple they are, they decided tour life didn't count and instead agreed their overwater bungalow experience in Fiji was their true first vacation as a duo.
"That first trip really solidified us as a relationship," Vanessa added.
"I think that's why this campaign is so cool because it really is true. You do get to know someone on a whole other level when you travel with them," Nick added while looking back on all the fond memories of their first vacation. "Spending that much intensive time with [your partner], you learn pretty quickly whether or not there's compatibility or if it's a trainwreck waiting to happen," he added with a laugh.
To help new couples suss out their compatibility, Nick and Vanessa helped curate the Cuffing Season Stays on Hotels.com, meant to be ideal for every type of traveling pair.
"We worked with Nick and Vanessa to handpick hotels that match the characteristics of couples they've encountered as hosts of two hit dating shows," Melanie Fish, spokesperson for Hotels.com, shared. "We're connecting couples to their perfect somewhere, and by the end of the trip, we're hoping they'll also commit to their perfect someone."
The trips include one for "power couples" at the Hollywood Roosevelt, Los Angeles, which is ideal for partners who want to see and be seen, alongside a trip for "luxury lovers" at Nobu Hotel, Miami Beach, for beachgoers who enjoy the finer things in life.
There's also a trip for "partygoers" at ARIA Resort, Las Vegas, perfect for couples who want nonstop nightlife, and a trip for the "have it all types" at Refinery Hotel in New York City, so they can see all the best sites nearby, shop to their heart's content, and dine at world-class restaurants just feet from the hotel's front door. And finally, there's a trip for the "cool connoisseurs" at Wicker Park Inn in Chicago, so new couples can explore locally loved spots and easily catch the El train to downtown attractions.
As for what to do if you win, Nick shared this sage advice: "It's similar to the advice we give the couples on 'Love Is Blind' when they go into the pods. Just be you. Be honest with who you are; it either works or doesn't."
The contest is open to couples dating for six months or less. To enter, couples must submit a photo together and complete a short questionnaire describing their perfect getaway. Winning couples will receive $2,500 in Hotels.com gift cards. And, as part of the prize package, Nick and Vanessa will personally match the five winning couples with their ultimate Hotels.com Cuffing Season Stay based on their responses. (Winners will also be upgraded to Hotels.com Rewards Gold status.) The contest closes on November 10, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
But hang on, there's more. Hotels.com wants to raise the stakes. If the winning couples stay together through Valentine's Day 2023 – and provide photographic proof of their continued bond – the site will double their prize with another $2,500 in Hotels.com gift cards.
So go ahead, put your relationship to the test and enter for your chance at a dream getaway together here.
