Love is Blind stars Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton have beat the odds by staying happily married for two years after meeting and getting married within four weeks on the Netflix TV show.
And the couple told DailyMail.com exclusively that one of the secrets to their bond is that they don’t let financial issues get in the way, which is a major reason couples in the US split.
‘We’re practical,’ Lauren told DailyMail.com with Cameron adding, ‘We talked about finances early on in our marriage, getting it out of the way. We have been transparent with each other.’

The duo will talk more about their money management during a Wednesday Twitter Live segment of Financially Ever After at 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT.
When they first started their romance, Lauren says Cameron picked up the tab most of the time at restaurants.
Then they started going ‘back and forth’ over who paid.
It was not long before they discussed their money and financial goals so there were no bitter feelings.

‘Most people get very uncomfortable when they talk about money and it only gets worse when they are in a relationship because it is just so awkward,’ he said. ‘But you have to be open about it.’
He added: ‘And the earlier you talk about money, the better. It’s best to get it out of the way in the early part of the relationship to set the tone.’
Lauren said that they really ‘work together and share the financial responsibility.’

The power couple, who met on Love Is Blind in 2018, married after weeks of coming face to face, and have been together ever since, said it is also important to have the same goals.
‘There are a million different ways to handle money,’ said Cameron.
Lauren added: ‘If you sort out what those ways are early on, you are in sync. And that leads to a healthy relationship.’
They have also been mindful of their money during lockdown, preferring to do things that are free.

‘We love the outdoors so hikes are a big deal for us,’ said Lauren.
Cameron added, ‘We like to go into the mountains and into nature reserves.’
Lauren then said, ‘He takes his time on hikes. Like when he sees an unusual wildflower, he will stop and look at it, discuss it. He gets really into it! I am a city girl but I am getting used to being more outdoors and appreciating the beauty.’

Another thing they love to do together is have Movie Nights.
‘We get all cozy and see what’s on,’ said Lauren with her spouse adding, ‘we have recently watched all the Star Wars movies, Lauren likes them. And The Mandalorian is great.’
Dinner dates are not casual. ‘Once a week we will get all dressed up, light the candles and enjoy a fine dinner. It makes us feel like it’s special, like it’s a big night.’
Cameron is more of the chef, often cooking from scratch, while Lauren says with a laugh, ‘I like to do the eating, I do that well.’

And the lovebirds are excited to talk about money on the show Financially Ever After.
‘We hope we can help others understand discussions about money doesn’t have to be awkward, it can be comfortable,’ said Cameron.
‘We are just practical and we hope our methods can benefit others.’
