Loose Women's Kaye Adams admits 'I was totally wrong' after jumping to conclusion about co-star trucc

Loose Women's Kaye Adams owned up to jumping to the wrong conclusion about her co-star during Friday's edition of Loose Women.

The panel had been discussing Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and the challenges she faced after being forced to pull out of the Tokyo Olympics three years ago and people's incorrect perceptions of others. It led guest star and broadcaster Mariella Frostrup to say people often got the wrong idea that she was "posh" without knowing anything about her early life.

She started saying to viewers: "I arrived on the ferry from Ireland at the age of 16, I didn't finish school, and yet the presumption that people have of you and if people berate me..." before Kaye interupted: "I was guilty of that!" Mariella interjected: "I wasn't making a jibe at you!"

Kaye continued about Mariella: "I only learned recently your kind of back story but I made a presumption about you and what your back story would be and I got it totally wrong. And so many people made judgements of Simone and just didn't know the full story."

Biles has just picked up her sixth Olympic gold - her second at the Paris Games - but despite being the most decorated gymnast of all time she has had to overcome her own challenges.

The American star was forced to withdraw from the Tokyo Games after experiencing the “twisties,” a sense of disorientation that gymnasts sometimes experience, a crossing of the wires that connect the body and the mind. But after this she was faced with much public criticism with people claiming she had let the team down.

Friday's instalment of Loose Women was once again cut short this week to make way for racing from Goodwood.

Loose Women is on ITV weekdays at 12.30pm
