THREE offerings, including a particularly appetising clash between Shannon Ryan and Chloe Watson, have just been added to the Kieron Conway vs George Liddard undercard.
The Matchroom Boxing event will take place at the York Hall, London, on October 17, with Conway, 23-3-1 (7 KOs), hoping to retain his British and Commonwealth titles on away territory.
Indeed, the Northampton man enters their middleweight contest as the vastly more experienced operator, yet it is Liddard, 12-0 (7 KOs), ‘The Billericay Bomber’, who is likely to boast the lion’s share of the support.
Along with him, Watford’s Ryan will claim an all important home advantage when she collides with Watson, a former European champion, in just over two months’ time.
In her last outing, the 28-year-old suffered a flash knockdown in the third round, only to then produce a comprehensive performance against her flyweight opponent.
Prior to that, Ryan secured a notable points victory over Jasmina Zapotoczna, who outpointed Watson in March, before losing a split decision to Emma Dolan.
Watson, meanwhile, has since responded to her first professional blemish by joining forces with trainer Paul Stevenson and, in doing so, ending her working relationship with Ricky Hatton.
While WBA world champion Nick Ball remains his most high-profile student, Stevenson has nonetheless constructed a flourishing stable that includes the likes of Peter McGrail and Andrew Cain.
As for the Matchroom card in October, hard-hitting middleweight Jimmy Sains will join stablemate Liddard in a final eliminator for Linus Udofia’s English title against Troy Coleman.
Sains comes off a dominant display against Gideon Onyenani, who recently drew with Sam Gilley, while Coleman made a successful defence of his Midlands Area title in April.
Elsewhere on the Conway-Liddard undercard, it is worth highlighting, too, that razor-sharp middleweight prospect Leli Buttigieg will look to extend his unbeaten record against an opponent that is yet to be revealed.
