Katie Thurston Emotionally Remembers Beloved Cat Tommy After His Passing: ‘Love Live Tommy Boy’ tram

In our thoughts.

Bachelor Nation fans first met Katie Thurston on Season 25 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Season 17 of “The Bachelorette.”

Since her time on the shows, Katie has been keeping fans updated with her life on social media, where she frequently shares content of her beloved cat Tommy.
This week, Katie took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news that her sweet Tommy passed away at 16 years old.

Alongside a series of photos and videos of him, the former Bachelorette wrote, “If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. Today Tommy passed away peacefully at home. I had him for 16 precious years and through some of my biggest moments. Graduating high school, first jobs, many apartments, buying my first home, reality TV, heartbreaks, and even driving with me from Seattle to San Diego, just the two of us.”

Katie shared what happened that eventually led to Tommy’s passing.

She said, “On August 5th, we rushed him to the emergency vet. During his intake, they told me he weighed 5.55 kgs at 5:55 AM. I took this as a sign and I knew his time was coming. We did a blood transfusion which allowed the gift of time. For the next few days, he was spoiled extra with love, cuddles, and whatever he wanted to eat. One night, he’s hanging out with Jeff and I while we put together a Lego cat. And then it’s almost like he knew I was in good hands and could stop fighting. That was his last night as his best self.”
And Katie got emotional talking about the moment Tommy left us earthside.

The Bachelor Nation star wrote, “Today his passing was exactly how I had hoped. He was so peaceful looking and wrapped in a blanket like the baby boy he is. I lost a part of my soul today. I am in good hands with friends and family. And especially with Jeff who extended his LA stay to be here during this time. Tommy will always be one of a kind and stealing the hearts of so many. He will forever be missed. Long live Tommy boy, the most distinguished gentleman.”

We are sending Katie all our love and keeping both Katie and Tommy in our thoughts during this difficult time.
