The Loose Women panellist revealed the unexpected gift she was sent by Queen Camilla
Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter revealed the time she received an unexpected gift from Queen Camilla after she criticised an item of clothing in her column.
Denise and Janet joined Charlene White and Coleen Nolan on the panel to talk about their time meeting with Camilla to discuss their Facing It Together campaign.
While they praised Camilla for her understanding and knowledge, Janet opened up that she'd love to go back to help the Queen redecorate the room.
Denise expanded on her point, and told the audience that Janet wasn't a fan of the artwork, as Janet kept referencing the "painting of three corgis".
TV star Denise continued: "She kept going 'oh my god look at that picture of the corgis, it's awful' and then this lovely man came round with champagne which he offered Janet and she goes 'it's not English is it? Please tell me it's French'."
As the audience burst into laughter over the interaction, Janet detailed the first time she met Camilla: "My first contact with Camilla was she went on the set of the detective drama, the Killing, a Danish drama - tremendously successful. She went on the set and was given the sweater that the leading lady wore."
She continued: "I wrote in my column, 'whatever you do, Camilla, don't wear that sweater you'll look like a teapot'. So, a couple of weeks later a parcel arrives for me at home..."
Janet then shared that it was an unexpected gift, as she said: "It's from Clarence House and I unwrap it and there's a handwritten letter inside from Camilla and it goes 'dear Janet, why don't you wear the sweater?' and she sent me her sweater."
Denise and Janet were two of the 100 guests invited to Clarence House which hosted the event to mark the 21st anniversary of SafeLives, which aims to end domestic violence.
This comes just a couple of days after Denise Welch took to the panel to acknowledge the hilarious rumours that she'd gone missing while in a hot air balloon.
She said: "Kent police put out a thing saying they were actively looking for me and then the memes started. I was in the balloon with Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga was involved and she'd been quoted saying 'I'm worried about Densy, get the search parties out.
Denise continued: "Then, it started trending in the US where nobody knows me, and there's memes of Donald Trump being whispered to by colleagues saying 'she's still missing we need your help'. It was this massive story and people were saying to me 'where did this come from'?"
Loose Women airs on weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
