Jane McDonald gags as she chews I'm A Celeb-style grub on Channel 5 cruise show ngocc

Jane McDonald: Cruising Asia saw the former Loose Women star tackle some exotic dishes in the first episode of the Channel 5 show.

TV favourite Jane McDonald couldn't hide her disgust as she sampled a variety of creepy crawlies on her Channel 5 travel series.

In the debut episode of Jane McDonald: Cruising Asia, the celebrated host took viewers along for an exotic journey through Vietnam and Cambodia via the Mekong River.

While venturing through a Vietnamese market to check out local food offerings, the 61-year-old was taken aback by the sight of worms, black beetles, and crickets up for grabs.

With some encouragement from her guide, Jane bravely tasted a mealworm, and although she found it somewhat tolerable, her reaction to a cricket was one of sheer revulsion.

Munching on the sizable insect, which had a hint of garlic, Jane couldn't contain her horror, exclaiming: "Oh, that's disgusting! " despite continuing to eat it.

Jane also quipped in her narration: "There's more bugs in this market than there is in the I'm A Celebrity jungle!"
