Linda Robson has admitted she was left in tears after recording the audiobook for her autobiography because she had to relive the hardest moments of her life. The Loose Women star has been open about her battle with alcoholism and depression over the years, and bringing them up again was difficult for her.

She told Bella magazine: "The depression and the suicide watch I was on [and wrote about] was really hard, especially when I recorded the audio. I had to stop because I was crying my eyes out. They told me to go and sit down and have a nice cup of tea and then come back afterwards and I did."

In her book, Linda revealed she had a breakdown in 2018 which resulted in her needing to go to rehab. With the help of the rehabilitation clinic and regular visits to Alcoholics Anonymous, the Birds of a Feather star was able to get her life back on track.

Now the actress has gone four years without touching a drop of alcohol and appears to be doing better for it. Speaking about staying sober, she told the aforementioned publication: "I think you have to keep yourself busy. If you're sitting at home, which I was doing for two years, practically, in the house, and someone had to stay with me all the time. You have to keep yourself busy and find things to do."

In April, during an appearance on This Morning, Linda revealed her co-star Stacey Solomon was the one who drove her to rehab. She expressed that her anxiety struggles began in 2008 when her son's friend Ben Kinsella was stabbed and died after a night out.

From that day forward, she felt completely different when it came to the safety of her four children and struggled with anxiety and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).

10 years on from the moment, the actress suffered a mental breakdown during a trip to Ibiza with her fellow Loose Women stars.

Speaking to Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, she explained: "It all started in Ibiza, we used to go to a bootcamp, me and the Loose Women every summer.

"Then one year when I went I just found it really hard to get through the day. I started drinking, I'd never drunk before. Drinking anything to black out."

The ITV star went on to say that while she was given medication to help her, she ended up being in a worse state, adding: "My family were on suicide watch. Honestly, it was so bad. You've (Alison) known me for a long time and I've always been alright."

She added: "There was two years where I weren't on Loose Women and then I went back to Loose Women four years ago and everything's been fine, I'm off of all medication, I haven't drunk for four years."
