The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has no shortage of unexpected splits, icy dinners, and high-drama confessionals. And that is all in thanks to new cast member Britani Bateman. She served up her questionable relationship with Jared Osmond on a platter. And fans now are watching as it is unraveling right in front of our eyes. Britani, known for her polished theater kid energy, has officially called it quits with Mormon royal, again.
Yes, again. The couple, who had already separated once before, seemed to be back on track earlier this year. But in true RHOSLC fashion, that bliss was short-lived. And now, Britani’s confirming the breakup, while also diving headfirst into her new Bravo-fueled chapter.
Britani Bateman reveals split with Jared Osmond
In a recent interview on the Reality Court podcast, Britani let fans know that Jared was “batsh*t,” noting his behavior was cut out during her freshman season of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The Broadway actor noted, “We filmed a bunch of stuff [on RHOSLC for] the EP, and then since I was reduced to ‘friend of’ instead of [given a] snowflake, they cut all that out.” She added, “I was waiting for those episodes to drop, and then I was going to release the EP and [the episodes] just like came and went [and] it didn’t make it in.” Evidently, the son of Utah music royalty and the man she’s described as “her twin flame” wasn’t the greatest partner.
During her podcast chat, Britani revealed that Jared “broke up with me” earlier this week. Britani went on to explain that the pressure of filming, parenting, and rebuilding after their first separation created “emotional distance.” She noted, “For the very first time in two whole years that we’ve been together, he broke up with me yesterday. My heart’s broken.”
Britani Bateman seems to put men first
“Obviously, we’re dysfunctional, and love isn’t everything. Like, you have to be compatible. You have to want the same things for a relationship to work, and we clearly don’t. This really is the end,” she added. To add insult to injury, Britani revealed that the split was amicable, but he broke up with her via a voice memo. And based on her tone, it sounds like this one might stick. For all her confidence and bold energy on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Britani has a pattern that fans have already clocked. She tends to orbit her identity around the men in her life. And her ride or die narrative with Jared did not help her win over fans.
During the season, Britani hinted that her own daughter didn’t speak to her because of how she put men first. Britani has also accused her ex-husband, via The Daily Mail, of “severe emotional distress.” She shared that John would force her “to submit to sexual intercourse on demand (sometimes several times a day) and prohibited her from ever complaining about it.” Even in her breakup announcement with Jared she couldn’t resist romanticizing the split.
Britani Bateman is already making waves on RHOSLC
Hopefully, amid the chaos of reality TV, Britani can start to prioritize her own growth over her next romantic headline. But she is already making waves when it comes to Season 6 of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. While on the podcast show, the hosts were told, “Your jaw’s gonna drop. “It’s batsh*t crazy.” One of the hosts asked, “Do we get into the Bronwyn identity situation?” And Britani seemed more than keen to open up that can of worms. She responded, “Maybe.” As fans know, back in April, Bronwyn Newport dealt with rumors of a possible sketchy past.
Britani added, “I can tell you that literally this ensemble cast knocked it out of the park. Our showrunner, Lori — I mean, she is brilliant. She’s boots on the ground and she’s the editor too. So she films things the way she can picture it being edited later. I mean, she’s just a genius. And I think the combination of everyone, all of us just laying our hearts out and just putting everything on the table, not holding anything back, and her genius. She should win an Emmy.”
