Love Is Blind star Ramses Prashad has spoken out after his ex-fiancée, Marissa George, debuted her new relationship with a mystery man on social media.
“I was aware that she was dating someone,” Ramses, 35, said while appearing on the Tuesday, November 5, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast. “She’s been dating him for the last few months or earlier in the year.”
After Ramses said that he was “happy” for Marissa, 32, he added, “If it’s someone that can embrace her for who she is and she’s happy, then that’s great.”
He also insisted that Marissa’s decision to publicly debut her new romance didn’t “catch [him] off-guard.”
Despite knowing that Marissa has found someone new, Ramses stated that he and his ex were no longer in contact. “There is no relationship at all,” he said during the podcast episode. “She texted me once after the reunion but it went from we were pretty friendly to now there’s nothing there. That’s fine; I really do want her to move on. This was a lot of both of us, but there’s nothing there.”
Marissa revealed that she’s dating someone new in an Instagram post on November 2, which included a video that showed her dancing with an unidentified man. “Life has a funny way of surprising you. I never expected to fall in love again, let alone with someone who embraces all my energy and flaws,” she wrote alongside the clip. “When we first met, I asked him if I was too much. He looked at me, confused, and said, ‘What do you mean?’ I simply replied, ‘Nevermind,’ and from that moment on, I never questioned my energy again.”
Shortly after Marissa shared the post, several fans rushed to the comments section to express their happiness for her. “Aww, Yes!!! Genuinely happy for you. I knew it wouldn’t take long. Who wouldn’t want to be loved by you. You’re like a ray of sunshine. Now you can sing as often as you want in the shower to your heart’s content lol,” one person wrote. Another chimed in, “This makes me soooo happy! Watching you fall apart felt so personal … We’ve all been there! Questioning why they wouldn’t choose us. But this makes my heart feel like it’s being hugged again. Yes to this queen!”
Ramses and Marissa fell in love and got engaged during season 7 of Love Is Blind. While they initially seemed to be a strong couple, Ramses ultimately ended the romance before their wedding. Marissa was open about the fact that the split caught her off guard, and she was clearly devastated by their breakup.
While Marissa has not yet revealed the identity of her new man, she previously discussed her new romance while speaking to Us Weekly.
“I need a partner who’s gonna anticipate my needs a bit more [and] who’s gonna allow me to be the more emotional one and not have me lead the relationship as much. I figured that out with Ramses,” she told the outlet in an interview published on November 2. “I’m currently dating someone right now and he has those qualities that Ramses didn’t have for our relationship.”
The pair met at Washington D.C. hotspot Barcelona while Marissa was still processing her split from Ramses.
“We kind of dated a bit, but I was still working through a lot of my emotions with Ramses, so we stopped going on dates and we took a break and still stayed friends. We started dating [again] in April,” she explained. “It’s going very well.”
