Golden Bachelorette responds to Martha Stewart's diss about the show tram

This season's Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos has responded to Martha Stewart's recent diss about the show - and she's not holding back.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last week, the homemaking mogul, 83, was asked whether or not she would ever want to be on the ABC reality series, which features older people as contestants.

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Stewart was absolutely not interested in participating, even if she was paid a few million dollars per episode.

The Martha Stewart CBD founder confessed that she would 'absolutely not' go on the show because the 'guys aren't hot enough.'

However, Vassos, 61, is defending her men, and revealed that she even slid into Stewart's DM's to share her point.

'I DM'ed her last night,' Vassos admitted during an interview with Access Hollywood this week.

'I don't know if she's read it yet, but I did, and I said, "Dating is hard out there, and I had a great group of guys,"' Vassos continued.

She said that Stewart simply didn't know this season's guys as well as she did.

'I got to know the inside of them as well as the outside and both are wonderful,' Vassos added.

'I feel like everyone's falling in love with them, I'm like, "what's wrong with you, Martha?"' she said jokingly.

The show, which is currently in its first season, features Vassos as she tries to find love in a sea of 24 senior men.

The men range in age, and are anywhere from 57 to 69 years old.

Vassos unfortunately lost her husband of 32 years, John, to pancreatic cancer in 2021, according to AARP, and appeared on the first season of The Golden Bachelor as a contestant.

Sadly, her time on the season was cut short as she had to leave early to take care of a family emergency, per the outlet.

Currently, Vassos has narrowed her search down to just three contestants, and it still remains unclear who she will choose in the end.

Hopefully, her new relationship will turn out better than the one featured on last season's Golden Bachelor, where Jerry Turner chose Theresa Nist to be his wife - but only for a few months.

Turner filed for divorce from Nist on April 12 - the same day they announced their split following a three month marriage.

Gerry and Theresa, 70, announced the news of their split on Good Morning America in April, when they opened up about the reasons for their shock separation.

'Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and - and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to - dissolve our marriage,' Gerry told host Juju Chang.

The divorce was finalized in June.
