RHOP: Gizelle Bryant Reveals Reason Behind Jamal Split and Shades Dr. Wendy Osefo as Robyn Dixon Talks Season Six

Gizelle Bryant recently opened up about her split from Jamal Bryant.

Ahead of the highly anticipated sixth season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Gizelle shared the reason behind their breakup and addressed her drama with Dr. Wendy Osefo as her co-star, Robyn Dixon, revealed if the feud between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard-Bassett spilled over onto the new episodes.

“He lives in Atlanta. I live here in Maryland and we were going through a pandemic. And you just really can’t have a long-distance pandemic relationship. That just don’t work,” Gizelle explained of her and Jamal’s split on E! News’ Nightly Pop. “But we are still the best of friends, in each other’s lives, there’s no issues.”

According to Gizelle, “Jamal is family for life.” So, when it came to the ongoing chatter about his alleged behavior outside of their relationship, she took everything with a grain of salt and didn’t let the rumors impact the romance they once had.

“I’ve known Jamal 25 years. People have had issues and commentary and things to say about him forever. I know who and what he is. I know what our relationship is. So it didn’t play a part [in our split],” she confirmed. “We just couldn’t see each other. So it just didn’t make sense.”

When one of the hosts then asked Gizelle if her “ho meter” went up now that she’s single, referencing a discussion she and Robyn had on their podcast, Reasonably Shady, Gizelle said it would be a “hot girl summer” for sure.

As for her drama with Wendy, which led to an Instagram unfollow earlier this year, Gizelle credited that to her RHOP cast mate’s boredom.

“Wendy don’t have nothing else to do than be up in this pretty face so I’m not mad at her,” Gizelle laughed. “We’re going to let the season play out but there’s a lot that Wendy thought that I did that I really didn’t do. So we’re going to let Wendy and the rest of the world figure that out.”

Robyn also spoke out about what was to come on season six, revealing that she and her co-stars chose to move forward from the fallout of Monique and Candiace’s season five fight.

“We are absolutely past it,” she noted. “We didn’t want to go into season six with the baggage from season five at all so we just decided to move forward. Although it did take a little bit for all of us to feel like we were in a better place. But we do get there.”
