Add Andy Cohen to the long list of late-night hosts on team Harris-Walz.
On Monday, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff posted a video to his social media accounts explaining why “Being a girl dad is a gift.” He was joined by his daughter, Emma Emhoff, who had a message for all the fathers watching: “This is the time to really show your support for your daughters.”
The Emhoffs were joined by “girl dads” Cohen and Ben Stiller, who shared why they’re voting for Kamala Harris. “My vote for Kamala is an investment in my daughter’s future,” Cohen explained of his support for Harris, and Stiller concurred.
When asked what he likes most about being a girl dad, Cohen replied: “I love how much smarter she is than all the guys in the room already. I can tell that she’s going to be a powerhouse. She is already at two and a half.”
For his part, Stiller marveled at how his own daughter, who is 22, “is a feminist, is incredibly strong, and has really just inspired me in so many ways.”
Emhoff shared that when the Dobbs decision came down in 2022, the first person he heard from was Kamala, followed by Ella. “[Ella] texted me right away, essentially saying, ‘We need to fight.’ This is not just an issue for women. This is an issue for men and families. And this is one of the many, many reasons why we’ve got to elect Kamala as president.”
Cohen’s support of Harris is hardly surprising, especially given how outspoken he has been against Donald Trump over the years.
Back in July, Cohen stated that if Trump is reelected, he will stop talking about him altogether “because he keeps an enemies list.” Yet that didn’t stop the Bravo host from poking fun at Trump during his first and only debate with Harris in September: But Cohen’s issues with Trump go back much further.
In a 2017 interview with CBS News, Cohen shared that he had met Trump several times over the years. When he was then asked whether he liked him “before his presidency,” Cohen responded: “Um, uh, really good question. Eh, not particularly.”
Earlier this year, Cohen also recounted how he once received an “irate” call from the former president after Teresa Giudice, part of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and a one-time contestant on The Apprentice, described Trump as “broke” on WWHL (Trump demanded a retraction, which Cohen refused).
