Giovanni Pernice has seemingly made a cryptic dig on social media, suggesting someone has been 'imitating' him. The dancer is currently touring across the UK with his own headline show.

Giovanni is now halfway through he tour, The Last Dance, which he has previously said will be his last tour - for now, having headed out across the country with his own show for a number of years in a row.

The tour comes after Giovanni wasn't invited to take part in the last series of Strictly Come Dancing after an investigation into his behaviour on the show was conducted following complaints from former dance partner Amanda Abbington, before he was cleared of the most serious allegations

Giovanni then went on to be crowned the winner of the Italian version of the BBC One dance contest and America's Dancing with the Stars alongside Bianca following the show's final back in December before returning to the UK for his tour, which kicked off at the end of January.

But it seems something may have irked the Italian star as he shared a quote to his Instagram Story with read: "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness - Oscar Wilde."

Alongside it, he added a GIF of himself of him saying 'Thank You', like he did on Strictly when he and his dance partners made it through to another week.

But he's since returned to social media to offer updates on his tour and his next projects. Alongside a poster for The Last Dance, he said: "Day off today - and half way through the tour... Which means still lots of chances for you to come and see me."

Alongside a poster for his joint tour with friend and Strictly judge Anton Du Beke, Giovanni continued: "And then back with my best friend." He also shared a video from his former co-star Kai Widdrington and re-announced: "And also working on @kaiwidd tour tour! Make sure you see it."

It comes after Giovanni completed a string of shows in Ireland. Sharing a number of images to his main Instagram grid, the 34-year-old said: "Thank you Ireland! As loud as ever - thank you for coming to see me and for all the support! I’ll be back again in July with Anton so see you then... Promise I’ll practice my Irish dance."
