NICK Knowles could STILL be axed from Strictly Come Dancing despite being cleared to dance in the competition.

With the first elimination of the series approaching, he may be the first to go due to his profession.

Across the 21 previous series, one celebrity has faced the unfortunate fate of being the first to leave.

And it turns out that many of those who’ve been sent packing have one thing in common.

Since the dance show began in 2004, 38% of the stars eliminated first have been presenters - making it the most common job before actors.

Most recently, presenter Les Dennis, 70, was eliminated, following Quentin Willson, 67, Gregg Wallace, 59, and Kaye Adams, 61.

This means that Nick could potentially be in a vulnerable position on Sunday night's episode.

It comes after The Sun revealed he has been given the green light to return to the BBC dance competition.

The DIY SOS star stuffed a nasty shoulder injury on Sunday while changing a tyre on his car.

He spent Tuesday meeting with doctors and discussing the extent of his injury as he missed out on hours of dance rehearsals for week 2.

But in a behind-the-scenes glimpse from his rehearsal today on the Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, Nick was seen back in full swing with his pro partner Luba Mushtuk.

The TV star said Luba has adapted their dance to make sure everything goes smoothly on Saturday night.

Nick told the cameras: "Luba has been extraordinary.

"From the moment she knew I was injured she has been looking at alternative ways. She must have rebuilt this dance ten times."

Luba added: "He is looking incredibly well in hold. He has potential in ballroom!"

The duo are set to perform an American Smooth to Blur's Parklife on Saturday.
