The DWTS Alum Shared News of His Health Challenges in January 2024
On January 5, 2024, Bolton shared via Facebook that doctors had discovered he had a brain tumor. The discovery came just before the holidays at the end of 2023, and Bolton had immediate surgery.
“Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success,” he wrote. He added, “For the next couple of months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I’ll have to take a temporary break from touring.”
In October 2024, nearly a year after his surgery, Bolton revealed in a Facebook post he had to cancel shows he had planned. “I’m just not quite 100% yet and I only want to give you my very best, so please bear with me as I continue my road to recovery,” he wrote.
He added, “My progress is good and I have been able to get a little work done on a couple exciting projects… I’m so grateful for your patience and support as I get back on my feet again!”
People noted that on February 5, Bolton announced an additional cancellation. He had a performance slated to take place in London in July, but he needed to cancel it because he was “continuing to heal from surgery.” He has not shared specifics regarding his diagnosis or prognosis in his updates.
