Derek Hough & Mark Ballas Unexpectedly Shine in Support of a Worthy Cause trucc

Dancing With the Stars” pro Val Chmerkovskiy held a fundraiser at the Playground LA on January 22. He taught an intermediate latin ballroom class and donated 100% of the proceeds to people affected by the wildfires in the Los Angeles area. He announced the class on social media on January 16.

When it came time for the event, Chmerkovskiy was joined on stage by Derek Hough and Mark Ballas, two of his longtime, well-know friends — and, of course, DWTS legends! Neither Hough nor Ballas were part of the original announcement.

One fan shared a video of the three pros dancing together, and Hough re-shared it on his Instagram Stories.

Fans Reacted to Seeing Derek Hough & Mark Ballas at Val Chmerkovskiy’s Event

Someone shared Hough’s video on Reddit where some “Dancing With the Stars” fans reacted to seeing the guys together.

“I love that these guys all support each other. All three amazing dancers,” one person wrote.

“Love this!!! It’s wonderful seeing them support each other for such a great cause,” someone else added.

“Take me back to when these three were competing against each other,” a third comment read.

“I just love Val’s style of movement so much. There are other pros who are my overall favorites for the show, but if we’re talking pure performance, Val is my guy. I could watch him dance all day,” a fourth Redditor said.

Val Chmerkovskiy Reflected on the Class on Social Media

After the fundraiser, Chmerkovskiy flew to New York. On January 24, he took to his Instagram Stories to reflect a bit about how things went.

Chmerkovskiy said that he’s received a lot of inquiries from people asking how they can donate and help, and he said he will share details soon.

“I’m here in New York. I just wanted to, again, reflect on the class this last Wednesday,” Chmerkovskiy began.

“All of the money from the class is going to this man that lost his house in the fires and, as soon as I — full disclosure — find out all of the legality points, I don’t want to mess with his ability to recover FEMA money and all this other stuff,” he said.

“I just want to go about this the right way and I will let you in on all the details in the next couple of days. Again, it’s as simple as Playground will give me all the money that they collected, I will then take that money and forward it on to them,” he added.
