CORONATION Street’s Roy Cropper will be brutally attacked in a prison murder attempt next week as the soap finally reveals the truth about Lauren Bolton.

The cafe owner - who is played by actor David Neilson in the ITV soap - is in prison charged with the murder of former employee Lauren.

Weatherfield police had become convinced Roy is a secret sexual predator who paid Lauren for sex before murdering her in a rage - though there is a distinct lack of actual evidence for any of it.

Now next week Roy will be terrified as he discovers terrorist Griff - who is pals with Lauren’s dad - is in Weatherfield prison.

Griff orders Roscoe to lure Roy to the prison library. As Roy heads off to the library with Roscoe, Griff enters his empty cell. 

Returning from the library, Roy’s shocked to come face to face with Griff and things get rapidly worse.

Pulling out a weapon, Griff demands Roy tell him what he did with Lauren’s body. 

With Roy refusing to confess to murder, on account of not doing it, Griff holds the makeshift knife to his throat and orders Roy to say his last words. 

Will Roy come a cropper at the hands of Griff? Or will he confess and shock viewers?

Elsewhere this week - which is stripped over five nights thanks to Britain’s Got Talent’s semi-finals week - the truth about what happened to Lauren is revealed.
