Bachelor Nation fans got to know Chelsea Vaughn on Season 25 of “The Bachelor” and Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
She now lives in New York City and often shares dating advice, life updates, and a look into her fashionable life.
In April, Chelsea took to her Instagram Story to reveal that she’s in a new relationship.
Now, Chelsea is spilling some more info about her new romance in an Instagram video.
In the new post, Chelsea gets candid, saying, “I’m dating a white man. Let’s talk about it. Any time that I’ve been asked about dating outside my race, I’ve always been like, ‘It just hasn’t come up.’ Do I find myself a little bit more attracted to Black men? Yes, but I’m attracted to all kinds of men.”
She went on, adding, “If you’re sexy, any sexy man is welcome to come up to me. I did not think I was doing it on purpose, but if we want to get therapy about it, I honestly think I was just counting them out subconsciously. I would just assume that a white guy was not into me, not flirting with me, and would not want to date me.”
Chelsea shared that one of the most important things she looks for in a relationship is shared understanding.
So she explained, “I always thought that if I’m dating someone that’s not Black, they are not going to get me. The man that I’m dating right now has so many amazing qualities. He understands me in different ways that my ex Black boyfriends didn’t understand me. Nobody is going to be able to understand you in every single way.”
The Bachelor Nation star also shared some of the challenges saying, “I’ve also always wondered if people are going to stare at us in the street and the answer is yes. I know it’s not 1925, but people are still racist. It actually really bothered me at first, but I have chosen to switch my mindset to: ‘People are looking because we’re interesting to look at.’ All in all, it’s really not that different.”
We love how candid and honest Chelsea always is and we are so happy she’s in a happy relationship!
