The Washington Capitals continue to be a hot ticket as they continue their march in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Tuesday, for Game 1 of the team’s second-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes, two notable names were in the house at Capital One Arena.

Grammy-nominated rapper Wale had glass-side seats near center ice for the matchup.

The Germantown, Maryland, rocking a navy blue Alex Ovechkin hoodie, was introduced to the crowd during the first period.

ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt, a proud University of Maryland graduate, attended the game, rocking a number 20 Capitals jersey that had his last name, Van Pelt, on the back. Van Pelt hosts the midnight edition of SportsCenter.

Van Pelt was joined at the game by Stanford Steve, a segment producer and SportsCenter commentator, who was wearing a Craig Laughlin t-shirt.

Washington Mystics’ center Stefanie Dolson and several members from the Washington Wizards were also in attendance.

Previous Capitals playoff games have seen sports stars like Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders, NFL), Gunnar Henderson (Baltimore Orioles, MLB), and Mackenzie Gore (Washington Nationals, MLB) all in the house to support the team for their playoff run.
