Carl Radke says he took a 6-figure loss when he called off his November 2023 nuptials to his ex-fiancé, Lindsay Hubbard. The Summer House cast members announced in September 2023 that they had called it quits, just months before they were slated to walk down the aisle in Mexico. And now, Carl is opening up about that decision to break up and how much it cost him.
Carl appeared on The Viall Files on Wednesday, Feb. 5, where he addressed the dissolution of their relationship, which was filmed during Summer House Season 8. He admitted that he had no intention of breaking up with Lindsay earlier that summer, especially since calling off their engagement came with a price.
"I didn't want to be the guy who stood up there [at the altar] and it wasn't right. But I'm telling you, when I went into that summer, the amount of money we invested in all of it, I missed the cancellation for the wedding to get a full refund by seven days," he admitted. "I wasn't thinking about canceling anything other than trying to get on the same page with her."
He then admitted how much he had to pay for the canceled wedding. "Had I been seven days sooner, I would have saved around $150,000. But that wasn't in my brain. I was just trying to land the plan with her," he noted. "Honestly, if I was smart, I would have done it two months prior and saved myself a lot of pain and misery."
Carl had previously addressed spending "more than $125,000" for the wedding during Part 1 of the Summer House Season 8 Reunion. But Lindsay rebutted his comments, noting that since he called off the wedding, he should have been responsible for the cost. "You took care of the cancelation fees because you canceled!" Lindsay replied. "Do you want a pat on the back for that?"

Yes, he does. "Of course," Carl admitted. "She brought out the child in me at times. We were very silly. We had a lot of funny jokes."

But they didn't have to say goodbye to one another forever, as he still had to share a house with Lindsay while filming Summer House Season 9. "It was wild to see her," he revealed.
"It made me, in a weird way, happy, because I saw her happy outside of me," he noted. "She had a really fun summer with the rest of the group. People actually said, 'I wish she was pregnant more often.' Because she was just happier and just in a lighter mood. Her demeanor, for the most part, was really positive, which was nice."
But, they also had some differences throughout the season, too. "I mean, there were some moments we had that you will see on the new season," he revealed. "We had some conflict. It'll probably be good TV. But it was almost like we needed to have that."
