Gr8 Chase placard split

Team giving out commemorative placards to honor Ovechkin’s push towards history

Here’s one yard sign the neighbors won’t mind.

On Tuesday, Washington Capitals fans can stop by Medstar Capitals Iceplex and Capital One Arena Team Stores to pick up a commemorative lawn sign honoring Alex Ovechkin’s final push towards breaking the NHL all-time goals record.

The team posted a photo of the signs on social media, with Ovechkin’s two sons – Sergei and Ilya – holding up the placards.

The signs include the Capitals logo with "Watching the Gr8" underneath.

Ovechkin currently sits at 886 career goals, just nine away from breaking Wayne Gretzky’s record of 894 goals.

His next opportunity to add to his total comes on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks (10 p.m. ET; Victory+, MNMT, KCOP-13, SNW, SNO, SNE).
