The Washington Capitals are making the most of their offseasons, and they experienced a couple of milestones to kick things off.

Captain Alex Ovechkin, who returned to Moscow, Russia, following the culmination of his 19th NHL season, was all smiles on Friday as he and his sons, Sergei and Ilya, took the ice together.

It marked the first time that Ilya, Ovechkin's youngest son, has taken the ice. He was decked out in full gear and, like his father, sporting a Capitals "Ovi Jr." jersey with the No. 8 and skates with yellow laces.

Ilya turns four years old on Monday.

Meanwhile, Tom Wilson and his wife, Taylor Pischke, welcomed their first son, Teddy, on Thursday.

In other Capitals news, Aliaksei Protas got back on the ice and skated with his brother, Ilya, at Khimik Voskresensk's offseason training.
