"We knew that it wouldn't break them."
On tonight's (November 14) Big Brother spin-off, host Will Best quizzed finalist Hanah Haji's friend Zahra after she warned her pal against housemate Segun Shodipo.
Earlier this week, Zahra ended a surprise voice message to Hanah on a sour note, saying: "On behalf of all the girls, be mindful of Segun. Real recognise real, and we don't know that man. It's giving two flip sides of a coin. Love you always, your home girls."
Speaking with Will on Late & Live, Zahra elaborated on the reason she urged Hanah to be careful.
"I definitely think it began and it spiralled out from after [Segun] spoke with Khaled," Zarah said, referring to a conversation between the two housemates in which Segun insisted Hanah was flirting with him and not the other way around.
"He's portraying things one way to her but something completely different to the rest of the house," Zahra added.
Despite the message from her "home girls", Hanah stood by Segun, with tonight's brand-new Big Brother seeing them discussing their "platonic" relationship.
"We knew that it wouldn't break them," Zahra said, acknowledging that regardless of a potential connection "they're good friends".
"We just wanted to give her the heads-up," she continued.
Meanwhile, Segun's mate Marlon called out his pal on his ambiguous behaviour with Hanah.
"He's quite oblivious to what he's doing," Marlon said, though he insisted Segun doesn't intend to lead Hanah on.
Big Brother airs on ITV2 and ITVX from Sundays through Fridays, followed each night by Big Brother: Late & Live.
